"My family and I had the most unpleasant experience while staying at Wyndham Hotel North Bergen Near Secaucus. We arrived at the airport on Friday at 9pm and called the Wyndham Hotel North Bergen Near Secaucus front desk to request the advertised free shuttle from the airport. The phone rang and rang and no one answered for 3 attempts. Finally someone answered and told us it would be 30 mins before the driver arrived. We waited over an hour and a half for the shuttle, occasionally calling to check on the status where again the front desk did not answer. We eventually got a different person to call and the front desk person said there were no more shuttles for the night despite promising us we were to be picked up. As we were within the evening pickup window as stated on the website as 6-11pm. We waited over 2 hours for a shuttle that was never going to come with a 11 month old in and out of freezing temps and ended up having to go back to terminals to wait on rideshare transportation. Next, we had our room cleaned the next day only to return to our room to find we had zero wash cloths, hand towels or towels. I went to the front desk and requested 3 sets of towels, one for each person and he handed me 2 sets with a cabinet full and said that is all he could do. We then called the front desk to inquire about the shuttle to the Giants game and they had no idea what we were talking about though it was posted in the lobby. When we got down to the lobby there were several other patrons in the lobby waiting for shuttles to different places that had been waiting at least 45 mins. Morale of the story is do not trust the shuttles and do not expect the front desk staff to be responsive or helpful."

"This hotel has grown on us. To be honest this was not our first choice. There are a few items that this hotel does not offer that are musts for our full week stay. The missing items are "free breakfast" and " in room microwave". They are willing to put a microwave in your room if you are staying a full week or more as long as they have availability. Also they have no food items or odds and ends in a little area near the front desk, They really push the in building restaurant. The buffet breakfast is 20$plus tax, and open for lunch and dinner, prices are not extreme but I am not on a vacation, I don't spend more money on food than I am making all week at work( the reason I am staying in a hotel in the first place). So back to the review, the front desk has improved very much over the year or so we stop in . Checkin is usually very quick n friendly, they have an extremely high deposit of 200$ no matter how long you stay. But you get it back if you don't set the room on fire ..lol. The rooms are nice and furnishings are updated. Great gym and TV has a great TV selection. I would stay here again if the circumstances were the same as they have been. It is a generally nice place to stsy"

"I had a great stay at the Wyndham Garden in North Bergen, NJ! The staff was amazing—special thanks to Nolvia from housekeeping, Tom the driver, and Christine at the front desk. All of the employees, including the housekeepers and the maintenance staff who take care of the exteriors and interiors, were respectful, kind, and made me feel safe. The hotel is clean, fresh, in a safe area, and the free shuttle to Newark Airport is a big plus. Excellent service and great amenities—I’ll definitely stay here again and highly recommend it!"

"It’s not in a fancy area, but wow, it has really clean, nice-sized rooms, with a gorgeous recently redone bathroom. And best of all, if you like a little adventure, just a short walk away you can catch an unofficial bus to NYC (Port Authority) for only $3.50 (cash only), that all the locals use. They come every few minutes, and take about 30 minutes to get to the Port Authority. They stop at all the NJ bus stops along the way. We took it in and back both days we stayed. Plenty of parking for our car. No fee to park. Free WiFi. Staff was very helpful. Room was super quiet. Bed was very comfortable."

"From the moment we walked into Wyndham Garden North Bergen, the experience went downhill fast. The entire lobby reeked of this awful, sewage smell that hit you like a wall the second the doors opened. The staff were cold and borderline rude like you were bothering them just by checking in but fine, we tried to brush it off. Then came the room. Oh my god. The “bathroom” didn’t even have a lock. The shower had no privacy just glass doors that didn’t even reach the ceiling or floor, so you could literally hear and see everything from the bed. Whoever designed that clearly never stayed there. It felt like one big empty studio where privacy simply doesn’t exist. And the water pressure? Don’t even get me started. I could’ve stood outside in a drizzle and gotten cleaner faster. It was so weak that washing shampoo out of your hair felt like a workout. I don’t care if they’re trying to be “eco-friendly” there’s a difference between sustainable and unusable. To make matters worse, during check-in they scanned our IDs and didn’t return them until the next day. Who does that? It’s completely unacceptable to withhold someone’s ID overnight. All in all, this place was a total nightmare. Between the smell, the attitude, the zero privacy setup, and the awful water pressure, I wouldn’t stay here again if it were the last hotel in New Jersey."
