"Location is perfect. 10 Minutes walk from Penn to the hotel and you pass Times Square on the way. Close to Rockefeller too. Very close and accessible to everything interesting. The reception staff was great. The hotel lobby is very busy (not necessarily a bad thing). All seats are taken and there are lines. They offer “free breakfast” and you get 3 items: a drink, a pastry(commercial), a fruit, a yogurt. That’s all but for NYC 🙌 Room 1643 was the room we stayed in. It has some view of 7th ave. The room was clean but it’s old, outdated, needed remodel. Phone didn’t work. There are no easily accessible outlets by the bed, no usb plugs. We did get complementary tooth brushes and toothpaste upon asking. If you want a place to stay in a great location in the city, where you mainly stay for shower/sleep/rest, this hotel has everything you need. If you’re expecting high end new furniture and modern living space, not the hotel for you."

"location fantastic. rooms always hot and you cant turn off the heater. staff at the front desk were lovely. got some attitude from the concierge for not leaving a tip as we were leaving the bags there for an HOUR! people dont carry cash on the last day, had to get some money out just so i can get my bags back in one piece. otherwise hotel was okay and clean. great location and roomy."

"Great location!! We were within walking distance of the theatres, Times Square, and Rockefeller Plaza. Room was nice, king bed was comfortable, and the lobby was beautifully decorated for the holidays. The one con was, there was construction going on in the hotel so it was noisy. Otherwise, a great place to stay. The staff was very helpful, friendly, and welcoming! There was no restaurant there yet, but there was a small grab n' go to get snacks, soft drinks etc. However, there are restaurants very close by so that wasn't a problem for us. We would recommend this hotel especially for the friendly staff and great location."

"The hotel stay itself was okay. The staff was friendly, but I they are always on their phones.. Very important to mention: the hotel is very old. The pictures you see online or on third-party platforms like Booking, Trivago, Trip.com, etc. do not reflect the actual reality. Just as an honest warning. The bathroom is definitely in need of renovation. Apart from that, the overall standard is average and what you would typically expect. The beds were very nice and extremely comfortable a typical king-size bed, which was a big plus. Important warning: Never book this hotel again. As a result, we were charged another $650 on our credit card at check-in. It took several phone calls and written communication after returning to Germany until the money was finally refunded about 10 days later. The location is excellent right at Times Square. Very central, everything you need is within walking distance."

"I’ll be honest, I did have low expectations, very low expectations, about staying here after reading the reviews on Google, but I really had a great stay here. I stayed over the Thanksgiving break among a group of 5 people so I did expect to queue for a long time checking in, especially after reading the reviews. There were loads, and I mean loads of seats at the reception area for people to wait at. There were some really welcoming, friendly and chatty porters who offered to look after our bags while we waited and I did not feel they were pushy or persistent for a tip from us. The queue did move really quickly, I didn’t think we were waiting for long. Raquel at reception was fabulous. She advised us that the card/key to the room is very sensitive and should not be stored next to a phone or credit card because this can deactivate it but none of us had any problems with our keys. I will be honest, we were all on the 6th floor and the decor does feel a little outdated. I know there are refurbishments taking place and none of us were disturbed by any of the work. Again, the rooms were outdated, but were fine. Each of the rooms we were clean, had a working TV, a coffee machine, plenty of lavatory paper etc. The beds and pillows were very comfortable. I did find it unusual that there wasn’t a fridge because most hotel rooms did have a mini-fridge. Although I think one could have been ordered from reception if we asked but none of us needed one. Noise-wise, it wasn’t as loud as I thought it would be. The windows in our rooms did open which was great for letting fresh air in. Realistically, it is in Manhattan and about a 1-minute walk from Times Square so you are going to hear outside noise. Although we did get used to it and after a long day of walking and exploring, we were all so tired that we slept through most of the night comfortably. There is an ice-machine and water cooler on each floor, but the one on the 6th floor didn’t work so I went to the 8th floor which had one working perfectly, not too far from the elevator. I forgot to report this to the reception while I was there so I can’t really fault the hotel for the ice-machine and water cooler not working on the 6th floor if they didn’t know about it. The housekeeping team came to our rooms every day and they were all so lovely. On one day when we were all having a lie-in, the housekeeping team knocked on the door, waited for a response and offered to come back. I said no because we would be resting for while and yet they still offered us fresh towels, more lavatory paper, to empty the bins etc. They were all so friendly and lovely, they couldn’t do enough for us. The ‘Grab and Go’ breakfast is still a nice option and you do have the option to buy additional coffee, drinks and snacks from there. I think it’s open to 12.30pm every day which I think is a great service, especially if you’re not a morning person and don’t want to rush yourself down before a certain time. Even during check-out, the porters weren’t very persistent for tips and stored our luggage away from the reception. They even asked how we were getting to the airport and did we need help calling a taxi. So truthfully, I can’t really complain too much. It was a great budget-friendly option with a great location. If it’s your first visit to New York and you need a convenient location, I highly recommend staying here and I would gladly stay here again."
