"Way too small room with a great bed. Broken coffee maker. Shower neefs upgrading, water trap comes loose when stepped on, replace shower curtain with a glass door."

"I had put up one of my staff members for a night here. He couldn't stay the night due to other hotel guests screaming as if they were being tortured all night, and had to find other accommodation. The hotel staff seemed to not care, and Booking.com says they can't do anything to refund us."

"It’s called Essence now. Rooms are small but what hotel room in New York City is large?? They are all small unless you pay way more. It’s clean and safe, and the staff are very friendly. The location is excellent. Very close to everything; restaurants, bars, subway, Barclays, and shopping."

"I booked this online as Union Hotel, When I got here, they changed the name to " Essenes Hotel." If I ever come back to Brooklyn, I would never stay here. The rooms are small as hell! No frig, no microwave, no ice machine, not even a vending machine. The bed was hard, but the TV was great. Had a desk in the room that didn't work, plus it didn't have a chair to sit."
