"I be am here right now. Don’t believe some of the negative reviews from people who negative review everything. It’s a good deal for the money. The crew here is super nice. There’s plenty of hot water really cute stall shower, the place is clean and you can’t beat the location. Television works just fine and so does the remote. Hopefully you didn’t come to New York City to be in a hotel room all the time anyway. All the elevators are working and yes, they’re small but be a little patient."

"We stayed from December 4–11, 2025, and this was one of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed in. I had to switch rooms five times because the first ones were filthy—broken AC full of debris, chipped paint, missing ceiling lights, dirty sheets, and stained walls. The fifth room was only slightly better. The shower had no door, so cold air rushed in while bathing, and we even found two live cockroaches. Our view faced other buildings and felt depressing. The cleaning staff was nice, but they repeatedly walked in while we were sleeping, and once even came in while we were naked. Although the location was amazing but I can’t say the same for the rooms. Just a 2 min walk from Times Square. Overall, you get what you pay for. I’d give it a 2/10. I don’t recommend staying here."

"We arrived today having read reviews and were concerned, our room had a leak and we thought oh no here we go. I went down and spoke to a lovely lady called Sunny. She moved us straight away, are the rooms perfect, no, but they are clean and good value for money, what has made it pleasurable for me is the lady on the desk Sunny! She was smiling, friendly and trying to resolve problems, if your looking for a posh hotel with 5 star rooms, this isn’t the place, but the room is a good size, clean and comfortable bed, with heating and air conditioning, and a nice bathroom. No complaints from us. Thank you Sunny 👍"

"The room was such a small room for queen size 2 people we paid for almost $900 for 4 nights. I don't mind for that. And we found cockroaches that's so gross it's running on our toothbrush and our clothes. I had to throw away all. we told to receptionist and she exchanged the room. And she told us they would refund the money for 1 night and they never did. They never refund our deposit money which is $150 and one night refund money $198. Total $348 they never refund back. We wait for first week. It's been two weeks since we came back from our vacation. We tried to contact them. They've never picked up the phone. The only 1 elevator working and it took forever. Overall doesn't worth to stay this hotel because of location. I recommend to choose another hotels near around there. I didn't believe the reviews before we go there because I've never seen cockroaches at the hotel in my entire life. I rather give 0 instead of 1 star. Plus you can't get warm water when you take shower. it's with time limit. We went there November. Think about how cold would be when you have to take shower with cold water. This hotel is totally sucked!"

"My husband and I are frequently in Manhattan for family vaycay or a quick couple’s getaway here and there; as such We try different hotels… the Gallivant was our place from 11/11/25 to 11/13/25. Long story short: Don’t do it!!! ***pros: location provided Convenient access to Times Square. And the initial front desk staff was friendly. However in hindsight they had no right charging that $50 early check-in fee considering the condition of the building. ***cons: the “premium room” we stayed in was very dated, semi clean, had two hvac units with only one working thru the wall thermostat. We were on the 10th floor and spent A LOT of time waiting for an elevator up to the room and down to the street as only 1 of the four was working, and at one time all elevators were down. Overall, it sufficed but DONT DO IT!!! Seek shelter elsewhere! I have plenty of Times Square hotels I’d gladly be a repeat guest of, but this won’t ever be one of them…. Don’t do it!"
