"BE WARNED WHEN BOOKING HERE. I made a booking via booking.com to stay here for a work meeting. Unfortunately I contracted covid the day before my meeting and I had to reschedule my trip. I had asked booking.com about cancelling or moving the date and they said they would be happy to they only needed the hotels permission. When I spoke to the hotel about this they admited they COULD make the change, but that they wouldnt. They said it wasnt their policy to make adjustments and that I was basically out of luck. The manager even admitted when I called that they could do this if they wanted to, but that they did not want to. Mind you the originally booking payment was THREE times what the rate would be for the new date, so essentially they could have resold the room for my original date and then made additional money off of me. I should add that when I did speak to the manager on the phone he was not only arrogant about it but also had a "why is this my problem" attitude to the conversation. I basically had to call him out for why he was being so mean about the whole situation. Again, I do understand I was not technically in-policy anymore but that shouldnt preclude a hotel trying to help out a paying customer who is simply looking for some support to move the dates. I run a small business myself and this cost me alot of money. I would never treat my customers this way Basically, this hotel clearly does not care about their guests or trying to help people out in situations that require any sort of change or adjustments. Do you really want to do business with a hotel that doesnt care about you?"

"We spent 3 nights at The Lodge before we flew home. We had spent 5 nights in Manhattan for the NYC marathon which was great but crazy expensive. Red Hook was great location with a ferry to Manhattan only 10 min walk away. Room was small but big enough for my wheelchair and the bathroom also ok. Room was clean, friendly staff and good breakfast. Would recommend without hesitation."

"3 nights, 4 days at The Lodge Red Hook was great. Highly recommend this hotel. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Bathroom was well equipped and clean. This hotel is nice without breaking the bank. Outlets have USB chargers built in for easy charging, smart TV was nice and the clean/cold mini fridge was great to have. Staff was very helpful, clear and quick. The neighborhood was very quiet, safe and clean. Lots of commercial businesses in the area including the fire department."

"We spent a night in this hotel before I cruise. The proximity to the cruise terminal can't be beat. However there isn't much to do here and not many places available to eat at. The area seems to be quiet and safe. I read reviews about some unpleasant smell lingering in the check in area, and it is true - the smell is there. But as soon as you get into the elevator it remains behind. The room is quite spacious and comfortable. The bed was very nice and we had a very restful sleep. There is a bathtub in the bathroom, the water was hot and the pressure was nice. The room was clean and the sheets and towels were spotless. We enjoyed the breakfast which was much better than the one usually offered at hotels. A good stay overall, nothing bad to say."
