"The Holland Hotel is a well maintained property where management has put thought into how to prioritize improvements and amenities. The hotel is suitable for budget travelers who put a premium on cleanliness and comfort. The rooms have been refreshed with paint and dual pane windows, and they are spotless. Bathrooms look a bit dated, but are comfortable and have hot water on demand. There's a daily free breakfast with a variety of pastries, rolls, fruit, yogurt, coffee and juice. The hotel can hold luggage before check in or after check out. Nearby amenities include subway to Manhattan (called PATH), a shopping mall and a variety of restaurants, all within a 10-minute walk. Overall, our stay was very pleasant."

"The only thing good about this hotel is its location. Other than that, we did not have good experience with: 1. Room: very small room. The beds are small for 2 people as well 2. Breakfast: Did not have much choice. No microwave or toaster near the breakfast area. So, you have to take things to your room if you want something heated. No place to sit near the breakfast area. 3. No elevator: we were on the 3rd floor and had to carry the bags all the way up the stairs. I did not expect this after our long drive. 4. No drinking water or a fountain on the property. We had to walk to the neighboring store for water. 5. Price: we paid very high price for this booking expecting a lot better based on the other reviews, but we were very disappointed."

"The Holland Hotel is perfectly located at the mouth of the Holland Tunnel, which is probably why it is so expensive for a place that is aged, has no elevator and offers a small continental breakfast as a selling point. The parking was nice and convenient for coming and going, although the traffic around the hotel never really stops because of the tunnel. The room was nice and the bed was comfortable. No bed bugs. As mentioned, it is an older facility so that is what the room showed. We booked for one night for a place to lay our head before a cruise. It was a convenient place to sleep, shower and leave. I have an issue going up and down stairs so the only serious negative was no elevator and all the rooms on the main floor were already booked/taken. But choosing a room in the lower level seemed to be more convenient for me because the stairs at the end of the hall were a short flight that went to a door that headed out into the parking lot where the ADA spots are which is where I parked."

"Highly recommended! We stayed at The Holland Hotel for a night in October. The location is perfect! It's right next to the Holland Tunnel with easy access to NYC and a 10 minute walk to the PATH train to NYC, also. The rooms were not huge, but they were clean, and this is the most important. The bathrooms were nice. The hotel staff was friendly. They have a small breakfast with pastries and oat meal. They also had coffee, hot tea, hot chocolate and orange juice. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to stay outside of NYC and have easy access to the highways and the city."

"We stayed here for two nights. Pros: • The closest and most accessible area to New York. • Close to the Holland Tunnel. • Simple breakfast (not very healthy). • Fairly cheap. • Grocery stores and fast-food places around the hotel. • Free parking (though most New Jersey hotels offer that). Cons: • Breakfast was just croissants and coffee, nothing more (and even that changed from day to day!). • You can clearly hear when guests upstairs take a shower or flush. • Housekeepers were talking loudly in the hallways while cleaning (around 8 a.m.!). Tips: • Go to Manhattan through the Holland Tunnel (it’ll cost you about $25 total for the tunnel toll and congestion fee). • On weekends, you can find plenty of free street parking in Manhattan’s outskirts. • Take the PATH train from the hotel to Manhattan — about $3 per person. • Free daytime parking in New Jersey."
