"absolutely terrible customer service. the bathroom sink was clogged and sink water pressure was stronger than the bathtub shower. there was no hot water for showering. there were no garbage bags in the trash cans. room service kept knocking at the door without prior notice. workers in the front kept staring and seemed confused when asked questions. they kept pestering us about our checkout time even though we called and told them to extend it by an hour, which they agreed to.. overall, the only good thing was the heating system and shuttle service. just awful customer service."

"We just stayed at the Super 8 for a quick birthday weekend to enjoy NYC! For the overall experience I give it a 5 and actually already recommended it to a friend! The location of this hotel to the city, taking the Patterson shuttle was quick, easy and very cheap! We never waited for the shuttle for more than 10 minutes! The room was clean and spacious enough for two people for 2 or 3 nights! Basic amenities you would find in a typical hotel room. The staff was extremely professional and friendly; check in and out was fast and easy."

"The hotel staff is unfortunately very unfriendly and focused on making money. A minimal level of customer service would be nice. You can easily get to Manhattan with the shuttle for $4 per ride. Sometimes we had to wave the shuttles down, so if you see one passing by, give it a try. In the mornings they usually stop right away. The room was okay in terms of cleanliness. The main light didn’t work and the shower is a bit old. The breakfast is terrible. Yes, American breakfasts are always unhealthy, but here there isn’t even peanut butter or whole-wheat toast. You have to pay $10 for luggage storage. As I said, they try to squeeze as much money out of you as possible. The coffee is empty after 9 AM. It wouldn’t be a big effort to keep the coffee filled throughout the morning, but even there they are stingy. Better to pay a few dollars more and stay at a different hotel."

"This is my fourth time visiting New York, and this is by far the most practical hotel/motel I’ve stayed at. The accommodation is clean, there is parking, and breakfast is included in the price. A shuttle bus picks you up right in front of the lobby and takes you to Manhattan in about 10 minutes. The return trip drops you off very close to the motel. The ride costs $4 one way. Great experience — I’ll definitely be coming back!"

"We made a roadtrip from New York to San Francisco and this was our first motel for 4 night during our first stop near New York. Very convenient to park our car in front of the room after we took it from the car rental center at JFK. Rooms were nice and clean, breakfast was simple but nothing to complain about. Shuttle busses will stop every 10 minutes in front of the hotel that will drop you off at Port Authority bus station. Be aware when you want to go back from Port Authority that you need to ask the bus driver that you want to go to the super 8 motel. Otherwise they will just continue driving further. You have to walk back to the motel for about 10 minutes cause it is only one way traffic next to the motel. We found it a weird bus/shuttle system but it did the job!"
