"I recommend not staying at this hotel. They claim they have non-smoking rooms but the entire place reeks of cigarettes when you walk in. The rooms are dirty and the fan was broken in our bathroom. Someone was smoking in the room above us so the smoke filtered into our room all night. There were cigarette burns in our sheets. They offered a different room but it was just as bad. We tried to check out at before 11 and no one was available so they charged us for an additional night that we didn't stay. The area around it is pretty dirty but lots of good delis and close to public transit. There are also warning signs about prostitution. Only giving an extra star for service because Danny was cool and helpful when we checked in."

"I was a victim of pure online scam and false advertisement by this Hotel called Rockaway and this third party booking company called Agoda that they partner with. Online they advertise as free cancelation but if you do cancel you get charge. Long story short I canceled my reservation at a timely manner way before the charging cutoff time and i was still charged for the reservation that I clearly canceled way in advance of my stay. They also charge my credit card in full for the full amount of days that i anticipated to stay. It is very unfair to charge customers for cancelling there booking and not staying at the hotel. Just like the name Rockaway Hotel everyone should just WALK AWAY from that place. Do not book your stay at that Rockaway hotel and Do not use that 3rd party company called Agoda. They do not answer the phone and when they do finally answer by accident there staff / front desk are very rude, disrespectful and unprofessional. When you call the hotel to dispute your case they lie and give you the run around. A manager is never available. This is coming from a very unsatisfied and disapointed customer. One of the Worse experience i ever had was booking this hotel Rockaway Hotel and by using Agoda there third party booking company. Save yourself from the aggrevation and your hard earned money. I was a frequent customer of Agoda but going forward nomore and i will never stay or recommend that Rockaway Hotel. Neither company should exist. If i had the option, i would give them a ( 0 )Star. That's really what they deserve. They are the worst."

"This hotel is so rundown and sketchy. My toilet was dirty and my door looked to have blood marks on it. The bedding is old, had holes and the towels had stains. The hotel itself is so noisy from ppl arguing in other rooms or ppl right outside the window. It’s a dive but at least there aren’t any bugs. I would not recommend."

"When we arrived everything seemed well. Then I went to get in the sheets, the sheets were stained with brown spots like dried blood. The toilet smelled dirty like it had not been cleaned and also it was dirty with hair everywhere. The hair was on the toilet, the floor, and in the tub. I wish I would have read the reviews previously. It's cheap but not worth it. Please listen!!!"

"My husband and I went to this hotel on Saturday. We reserved our room last minute because we were looking for other hotels, but to no avail. We spent 1 night there and it wasn’t that bad. The guy we met behind the counter was pretty tall. He’s kind and friendly. He made sure we were comfortable. He provided us with what we needed. Our problem was just the bedsheets and the floors. The bedsheets were all dirty and stained. They had brown spots on them and holes. I was shocked. My husband immediately said it has to go. I went and asked for new bedsheets and pillowcases. I’m surprised he didn’t have someone change them for us. He just gave it to us and said to change them. Even the ones we replaced had holes, but at least they were clean. Honestly they can do better. My other issue was the smoking. All the other rooms had people smoking and it caused the fire alarm to go off. Talk about a long night🙄. The bathroom, let’s talk about it. The bathroom was clean. Not SUPER DUPER clean, but it was clean to my liking. The toilet was clean, the sink was clean and the tub too. I just need for hotels to invest in bath mats. Put them on the ground to prevent water spills everywhere. My other issue was the room floor. It was slippery and I almost busted my ssa 🤣thank God my husband had an extra pair of slippers. The room smelt like bleach. I wanted to keep the door open for a while but I knew I couldn’t. The AC is so good. It gets cold in the room very quickly so we did a lot of switching on and off. They should change the TV in there. Imagine not having YouTube or anything on the TV. The TV has only channels which were boring as well. The mini fridge was very useful. I like that. Honestly do I recommend? Yes, but not for a first time. I give EVERYTHING a 6/10. Could be better"
