"This hotel is great if you just need somewhere to sleep and shower. Our room was bigger than expected, and pretty clean upon first glance. However, when we got ready for bed, we noticed some stains on our bedding, specifically the pillows. We woke up after our first night and there were mouse droppings all over the desk. We let the front desk know and their only response was, “oh goodness”. They did clean it up. The next night, we realized our AC system wasn’t working correctly. Their solution was to open the windows when we were hot and close them when we were cold, which was slightly inconvenient. Check-in did go smoothly and they were able to get us into our room earlier than expected which was fantastic. I just wish there weren’t mice in our room."

"I’ll be honest — my first night in New York was rough. I arrived exhausted, and the hotel I originally booked had overbooking issues and left me stranded at 10 PM in Manhattan. That’s when I switched to Pod 51… and that changed everything. From the moment I walked in, the front desk staff immediately understood the situation and stepped up big time. They didn’t just check me in — they helped me calm down, offered quick options, and got me into a room faster than I expected. The space is compact (yes), but incredibly efficient: clean bed, smart layout, and everything exactly where you need it. And the rooftop? That was the real therapy — quiet air, skyline lights, and that comforting hum of NYC below. I ended the night with peace instead of stress. If you want a place that understands travelers, not just processes them — Pod 51 is absolutely worth it. Rooms ⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4/5) — Small but smart, clean, and surprisingly comfortable Service ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) — Supportive, fast, and genuinely empathetic Location ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) — Perfect Midtown access to everything – ElAttar Reviews"

"just stayed here for 2 nights and i would definitely consider staying again! my boyfriend and i shared a queen room with a private bathroom and we were comfortable with it being 2 of us. i definitely would not recommend more than 2 people for this specific room. the room is definitely small, with the bathroom being smaller, but that’s just “pod living” as we put it. the room felt very clean, a.c. was running fine, we had hot water and i liked that we could also open the window to let the steam from the shower out! location is convenient as it’s night near a subway station, but also within walking distance of many things. the front desk was very friendly, and they held our bags for us after check out so we could continue our vacation for just a little longer. no complaints here at all!"

"If your plan is to be out in NYC for most of your trip, and you just need a decent place to sleep, this is a great choice! I would stay again on a solo trip, but would likely choose a traditional hotel if I'm with another person. I reserved a private bunk bed room with my girlfriend, although the queen would have been better for us two. Spaces are small as expected but manageable. There is a curtain and a raised curb that separates the shower from the toilet in the private space. The sink was a bit of an issue since it was small. The faucet head was high up which made water splash everywhere. Overall, the room was perfectly fine and these are small nitpicks. Only major downside is the lack of a fridge in this hostel/hotel to keep foods. Location-wise, you're a short 8-10 minute walk away from subway stations or bus stops that can take you to lower or upper Manhattan very easily. 30 minutes to Chinatown and 15 minutes to Central Park for reference. Service was great! Very nice desk staff who can provide recommendations. Like most places, you can leave your luggage at the lobby when you check out if you still have some time to explore before you leave."

"Stayed here on the recommendation of a friend. The room was small but comfortable and clean. I had a private shower and toilet. Again, small but clean and adequate. It is a pod hotel, after all. The staff was friendly and helpful. Convenient Midtown location and a quick walk to the M, 6, and E trains. Easy access to JFK and LGA by train. The view from my room was more “Rear Window” than Central Park West but quintessentially New York and I loved it (see photo)"
