"Cockroach alert! This hotel is rough. The photos don't reflect the current rooms. Our first room was ridiculously small, had a dirty floor, and street traffic was very loud. The staff let us move into a second room, and that one had cockroaches. Towels, bedding, pillows are very poor quality. Pay more and stay away from this place. We asked for a refund for one night due to the cockroaches, and the manager refused."

"To start, before even arriving, the hotel cancelled our original reservation because they tried to take payment upfront even though we had selected the “pay at property” option. It felt like they knew we were already committed, due to this property being named on our visa, so we ended up having to rebook at a price £300 more than what was originally agreed, for a new reservation. May I add that this payment that they tried taking out, was not disclosed to us that this was going to happen and / or happened and our original reservation was cancelled immediately. This complaint has been made to booking.com as well. When we arrived, things got even worse. The front desk staff claimed they couldn’t find our reservation, despite the fact they’d been messaging us through the booking app earlier that day. We ended up waiting 45 minutes in the lobby before they finally checked us into a room. Once inside, the stay at the room for the 6 nights wasn’t good. * No clean bedsheets or towels were provided on the second day. * The bin hadn’t been emptied for days. * The shower tap kept falling off every time we tried to use it. * The toilet seat slid all over the place. * There were sharp ceramic chips in the bathtub, which could easily hurt someone if they’re not careful. * The constant noise in the hallways and the roads outside - my partner and I haven’t slept well for days. * The windows don’t lock which makes the noise outside even louder. * We have received no breakfast - even though it was advertised when booking our original reservation. Overall, the hotel is completely disorganised and poorly maintained. It’s clear there’s little attention to cleanliness, safety, or basic guest comfort. Do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else — this place isn’t worth the stress, money, or disappointment, especially if it’s your first time visiting New York, like it was for us."

"Close to subway, and you get the basics to rest before a day in the city. I am not sure about safety of surrounding area. The hotel was reserved for me, and I was traveling with a small group of guys. I wouldn’t walk around there with family at night. The place does have its issues: tub didn’t drain properly, small cockroaches on the bed one night, people talking loudly in halls in late-night hours, hall reeked of weed one night. If you are willing to rough it out and face some of the above inconveniences, it’s not too bad."

"Better than expected! Inviting decor, thoughtful design touches such as LED lighting in the headboard and behind the TV which made it cozy at night. Tall ceilings. No individual bottles of toiletries or coffee in the lobby but that’s expected at this price point. Small stains on sheets but clean otherwise. Would book again"

"I don’t understand the bad reviews for this place. People are crazy haha I chanced it finally because on some pics it looks like they have tubs in rooms not just stand up shower so even though it wasn’t specified which kind they have in city view rooms I went for it after being hesitant bc of reviews for so long. It’s a basic little hotel not some motel. Bathroom was very clean and updated from pics I seen online. Looked nice as well. U can take an actual bathtub too which is amazing. You get city view from cons down bk through downtown city. And in bed u face some area thats completely unobstructed view of nothing so you can keep your shades open all night if u want. This is for sure a 2-3 night type of place and also the front desk people are so sweet and attentive and whatever you need help u right away. Maybe it’s good they have bad reviews so there is more chance to get rooms. Also this place is all set to work there is a desk ( w a normal chair!) and I noticed a heavy duty plug under desk for computer or whatever equipment and if u do streams from desk you’ll have city view in backdrops bc how it’s placed. Also, usb c and regular usb plugs right by her in normal location on top of regular plugs anywhere you’d want one (not in super weird areas). I’d feel comfortable recommending it to people /friends coming from outside ny for casual short trip eps if they want to be in this part of Brooklyn."
