"I wish I could say something good about this bnb but Paul never showed up to let me in - despite several confirmation emails including one a week before arrival. I waited three hours before finally giving up (and getting stung by one of the many wasps that infest the front porch). I’ve emailed, asked that he call or text, and no response. Luckily I had a backup place to stay with friends or I would have been very stuck on a Sunday evening with no place to sleep. Not a good way to run a business"

"I stayed here for my first ever visit to New York, and it was beyond my expectations. Jan, the resident of the home, was so nice, accommodating, and helpful. The beauty and authenticity of this home is incredible. All of the art in every space was a beautiful touch, and it was wonderful to be able to converse with the artist. The views of prospect park from our room were incredible. I feel like I got a true Brooklyn experience staying here. The neighborhood was great, very close to the subway station. Already looking forward to my next trip to stay at Parkside B&B!"

"Wonderful location directly across from Prospect Park. The room was very large and very comfortable. The art work painted by Yon the owner is beautiful and he is so welcoming and sweet. He was very kind to us and we really enjoyed talking to him. Just a few minutes walk to the subway takes you right into Manhattan. I would definitely recommend this location to anyone wanting to stay in Brooklyn."

"This place might not be for everyone, but as folks who used to live in Brooklyn, it was very welcoming and in a great neighborhood. Jan is a gem, he is a quirky artist to match this quirky place. We rented the second floor, king bed, private bathroom (not en suite), kitchen. It had everything we needed for how much time you’re actually going to be in your room in NY. We were two women traveling together and felt so safe. The size of the room is absurdly large for what you pay to stay in this classic brownstone."

"Our family (3 small kids) stayed on 3rd floor for 1 night for a wedding in Prospect park--such a nice location! The owner was VERY nice even when we showed up quite a bit after we thought we would. Having 3 LARGE rooms, a bathroom and small kitchen was fantastic, and the house was really neat, with amazing art done by the owner everywhere. We did have to block the stairway to keep our little ones from falling down, and the light in the morning got us up a little bit early, but otherwise it was great. We managed to find a parking spot Friday night right across the street, although on Sat it was packed. Sheets and towels were very clean, and I thought everything else was decently clean. There were AC units in the bedrooms to keep things cool."
