"This is one of the most disgusting experiences I've had in my life. 1) The owner deceitfully publishes this on Agoda as a hotel, but it's actually a private residence. He then pressures you to cancel the booking on Agoda and makes you pay him in cash or via CASHAPP 2) Getting into the building was a nightmare- it took over an hour to get a hold of the owner and I luckily was able to get into the building after people happened to be coming out 3) The room is shared with at least 4 other tenants; mine was a private room, but it was connected to the living room, which had 3-4 twin beds separated by a janky curtain 4) It is has one bathroom shared by everyone and it is FILTHY. Someone's dirty boxers were hanging from the shower rack, the towels were brown, the smells were putrid 5) TWO MONTHS AFTER STAYING HERE THE OWNER MANAGED TO TAKE OUT AN ADDITIONAL $100 FROM MY CASHAPP even though I would never stay here again and he has not refunded me. This is a certified scam and it is easily the worst place I've ever paid to stay at. It may seem cheap, but it is for a reason. Don't stay here unless you have absolutely no choice- it's worth staying a bit farther away from Times Square to avoid this filth"

"The stay was perfectly fine for the price. It IS just a guy renting his apartment out to fit as many people in, so expect to be sharing an apartment with about 8 other people. Other than that, can’t say I felt unsafe sleeping here, or leaving my stuff in the rooms while I was showering or grabbing a bite. The reason why it is a 4 star and not a 5 is because the check-in was very sketchy and was totally unclear."

"It's the best place and best price. I never stayed at a hostel before but I enjoyed it. You can't think of it like a hotel. It's more like rooming at a family home. Respect each other and clean up after yourself. For 10.00 you get a towel or bring your own. There is a five below near and target. I enjoyed it. And owner was very nice."

"Dirty place, see pictures below the room is about the same. If you can live with that, then the location is great. I almost forgot this is not a hotel, it's a flat to which you may or may not enter according to the manager who you must call by phone. Good luck with your tour stay."

"This is NOT a hotel - it's a horrible apartment with beds in the living room and a bed in each of two small bedrooms (that are NOT locked from the rest of the apartment). The bathroom is dirty, there are no towels or washcloths, and the shower curtain doesn't even cover the whole tub. The location is the only plus, but there is no front office or easy way to get in contact with the renters. You have to walk up a narrow, beaten up stairway to a second-floor apartment. The rate may SEEM enticing, but please go literally anywhere else in NY."
