"The central hotel has a prime location near Manhattan. But otherwise, it's a waste of time and money. Having to share a bathroom and shower with everyone else makes it less appealing, and if you add to that the fact that they don't check if there's toilet paper in the bathroom and you have to wait for the bathrooms to become available, and you have to leave your room to use them, it makes this place useless."

"We stayed a week in this budget hotel, what feels more like a hostel, in September 2025 for 80$/night (plus tax) in a very tiny room with a bunk bed, fridge, microwave and A/C (which is noisy). Every morning they offer coffee for free and over all it's helpful staff. Cleaning is also every morning, though sometimes toilet paper was empty and the sinks weren't so clean and it lacked soap for hands. Furniture is oldish and just functional. The building lays in an Latin American neighborhood, there is heaps of shops and eating options available, super safe (even at night, we arrived 3 am morning). Bus Stop to Manhattan/42 Street is just 100 meters (4,10 each ride) and takes up to 20 min with traffic. Over all, we can recommend this place, when you are on budget."

"You get what you paid for, and it's quite nice. No elevator so beware if you're carrying a ton of stuff and you have a room on the upper floors, but we weren't, so it was fine. Pros: Kind front desk, the room was very clean, it wasn't loud, and it was close to a bus stop to go to NYC. There's also a ton of food options nearby that were all pretty cheap. Overall a very pleasant stay despite the following nitpick. Cons: They stuff these perfume things into the AC that makes the room smell cloyingly of perfume. I was worried it was to mask something gross in the room, but a search through the couches, restroom, and mattress all seemed fine, and they all smelled fine too, so I'm not sure why there's a super heavy scent in the AC. Leaving the AC off lets the scent die down after a bit, although I think I went a bit nose blind to the perfume as well."

"It merits its price. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very simple but clean and nothing bad if you do not put high expectations. Its main advantage is that it is very accessible to NY city and particularly to Penn station by bus(-es). I am not sure about the neighborhood: the criminal rate is lower than median in the US, but I preferred to return before the late evening."

"Perfect hotel for a short stay in NYC. Located in a nice neighborhood, lots of food options, and quick bus trip to Manhattan. Staff was nice, room was clean and with mini fridge and microwave! I will come again!"
