"I’ve been lucky enough to stay in quite a range of hotels in NYC, from the Park Hyatt to the Beekman to a no frills Marriott. The Arlo SoHo is a weird one. The smallest rooms of anywhere I’ve ever stayed, including budget options - by far. They did attempt to be conscious about storage options to offset the tightness, which is appreciated. And there are some decent public spaces in the hotel to work. Some amenities are lacking while others are thoughtfully included. For example, no coffee in the room, but umbrellas are provided. The staff is lovely and helpful, certainly one of the better parts of the experience. But some things miss the mark: it’s pretty “scuffed up” at this point, for trying to be a hip young hotel. A lot of the cheap furniture is showing its age. The worst offender is the water in the showers. Plumbing in tall NYC buildings is challenging and it always helps to bring your sense of humor, but this was the worst I’ve ever seen. The shower wasn’t heating up, and we were instructed to leave the shower handle on a specific location for *10 minutes* to get hot water. It did eventually work, and the shower became piping hot. The pressure was low, and it was difficult to change the temp to something less scalding. Finally, because the hotel is close to the holland tunnel entrance, there was a lot of honking. The windows keep out most of the noise, but if you’re someone who needs dead silence, it might be difficult. The rooms are relatively high up in general which does make a difference. Overall - it feels like a budget hotel trying to be a high end one using branding and general design."

"I stayed at the Arlo a couple of weeks ago and had the best experience. The staff was absolutely amazing. As soon as I got out of the Uber, I was greeted by the door man who was super nice and conversational. Upon check in, Al really helped me out. He was super interested in why I was visiting, and let me know to reach out if I needed anything. He even upgraded my room, extended my checkout and gave me a few drink tickets. I wasn’t expecting any of that at all, but that extra generosity made my stay so much better. Even when I was checking out he asked if I needed anything else. Everyone who I encountered at this hotel had an amazing attitude. The woman at the rooftop restaurant walked me to the patio to help me decide if I should sit inside or out. I’ll stay good customer service is hard to find and Arlo exceeded my expectations. This will probably be my go to hotel when I’m in NY"

"Arlo SoHo used to be my go-to hotel every time I came to New York City. I’ve stayed here multiple times and always recommended it to others. After this stay, I will never be back—and I wouldn’t suggest it to anyone. I was in town for NYC Marathon weekend, one of the biggest and busiest weekends of the year, when thousands of runners need rest, reliability, and a hotel that actually cares about its guests. Instead, Arlo SoHo chose to prioritize throwing a huge Halloween party over providing even the bare minimum level of hospitality. I arrived around noon on Friday, dropped my bags off, and went out. I got a text at 3:30 PM saying my room was ready. When I came back at 5:45 PM, the front desk told me my room STILL wasn’t cleaned. It took them over 30 minutes just to sort out the mess. Completely unacceptable. Then came the real problem: the hotel turned itself into a nightclub. Music blasted until 3 AM—two nights before the marathon, when rest is absolutely essential. I’m sure I wasn’t the only runner staying there, but Arlo made it painfully clear they cared far more about cashing in on a party than respecting paying guests. The next morning, I asked if it would happen again. They said yes, they were throwing the party again that night. I asked to be moved to a quieter room, and they said they’d “do their best.” They had ALL DAY to update me, and they didn’t. When I came back at 4 PM, they told me there was nothing they could do. No communication. No apology. No solution. Just complete disregard. I had no choice but to switch hotels—during marathon weekend—because Arlo SoHo couldn’t be bothered to treat its guests with a basic level of professionalism or courtesy. This hotel has gone downhill fast. They clearly prioritize making money off loud, disruptive events over guest comfort, loyalty, or common sense. If you’re coming to NYC for anything important—especially something like the marathon—do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else."

"Stayed here for 7 nights and it was the most comfortable stay! We were greeted by Luna at check-in who offered us complimentary breakfast for 2 mornings at Lindens because of our duration of stay, as well as complimentary drinks at the rooftop bar and 20% off at the hotel bodega. This was so unexpected but we greatly appreciated these gestures after our 24+ hour travels from Australia. The location is perfect, easy to get anywhere in NY and away from the busyness in the centre of Soho. Rooms were clean and just to note, you need to request full room clean services but that is easily done through messaging the in house guest services. The shower has the best water pressure I've experienced in any hotel in the 10+ years I've been travelling back and forth to New York. The bodega is well stocked, pricey but you pay for the convenience. Alot of options from sandwiches, breakfast oats, fruit and a great amount of snacks. Only downside is that the coffee is not the best. Lindens, the restaurant attached was delicious, great service and every breakfast item we tried was amazing. No notes. All of the staff are super friendly and cool and definitely does not give the pretentious NY vibes that some other hotels in this area have. All in all, such a wonderful stay and this will now be my go-to hotel for every trip. Another shout out to Luna for really setting the tone for our stay here, you are amazing! ❤️"

"The Arlo SoHo is a hip hotel a short walk from shops and restaurants in the heart of SoHo. The location is fantastic and it's easy to take the subway to other neighborhoods. The staff are incredibly friendly and have lots of helpful suggestions. I really appreciated their help with my questions. My room was clean and comfortable though it was compact. I liked the overall vibe of the hotel but I really didn't like the wall of linens outside of the elevator on the third floor. Surely, they could find or create a storage room for these. It's quite an eyesore. Similarly, the front desk is right in the entrance and there's little room for the line at the front desk."
