"This is one of the best tailors in the city. Been coming here for over 10years- I generally need 4-5 new suits a year for my work and they always nail the fit- Roberto understand a what I’m going for as fashion trends evolve- he has a great breadth of knowledge to tailor for what one is asking for. Also they can turn items around faster then most tailors- I’ve had pinch hits where I needed elaborate suite work and they have been able to turn items around faster around in 3-4 day upon request - most other tailors require a week min if not longer. Go here for your needs! You will not be disappointed!!"

"I generally don’t leave reviews but I feel like this one deserves it. I know they are short staffed and they promised me to deliver in a week. I got called to work and I needed a bit sooner. I called them knowing it was a long shot, without hesitation he offered me to deliver one of the 3 shirts I had dropped to pick up on the day I called. This is incredible customer service. They certainly have a loyal customer now."

"Robert and his team are amazing! He’s friendly, honest and great at his job. I brought him my very important dress, he shared his opinion when I needed it, gave me his exact timeline and returned the dress perfectly. I can’t wait to go back with my next dress. Thank you!!!"

"They did a great job, and even rush hemmed one day before my event when the initial job was still a bit too long (for my liking, it was totally acceptable). It was clear to me there were a lot of regulars coming in, they’ve built a great reputation. Completely worth the price (which was just a bit higher than other places). I was initially concerned they wouldn’t do a dress as their clientele seemed to be bringing in primarily menswear, but they did a beautiful job with a chiffon bridesmaid dress (hem & let out)."

"EDITED review: My first review was under a diff email when I visited for the first time. After visiting Wilfred’s for the SECOND time, I was sadly disappointed…. While the QUALITY is good and they are pretty speedy when it comes to fixing your clothes, I felt the tailor / owner (?) was a bit racially insensitive when I was giving him my contact information for my order. (Note: we did not meet during my first visit). After filling out my name and phone, he looked at it, looked at me with a puzzled look on his face, and was like “Cummings?…Is that your married name?” I then replied with “…No.” This was followed by silence, and a still-puzzled look on his face - like he was waiting for me to explain myself. I’m Asian American, but living in a city like NYC where there is LOTS of diversity, I expect more respect. His question was also a bit sexist as he is assuming “I’d just take the husband’s last name”. If I were a man, I doubt he would have asked me ‘how I got my last name.’ Another way of interpreting this could be that he wanted to know if I was married or not. This is also NOT appropriate when I am your customer, and we have never met before. Regarding the dress I got tailored, I had them fit it during my visit (the bust was too large), but then after picking up and trying on at home, I found that the dress became a LITTLE tight in the waist/back area (which was not the case during my fitting session). This was not great, as it had fit perfectly at the waist before. The dress was for later that night so I did not have time to have this fixed. Unfortunately, it seems I need to find a new tailor. If you do go here, you will get fast service that is pretty good quality. However, BE AWARE of the people you are giving your money to."
