"CALL ANYONE ELSE! They aren’t vetting the techs they call out and I was taken advantage of and SCAMMED! I called late on a Friday night with a simple lockout and pro-tech sent a technician who scammed me. The guy drilled my lock without even attempting to pick it so it had to be replaced. He told me it was going to be $700, he was here for 10minutes. I panicked because I’ve never had to call a locksmith before and I didn’t know the cost. I told him I couldn’t afford it but he said there was nothing he could do that’s what I owed, so I paid it. I’m embarrassed I fell for it but I didn’t know what else to do the guy was in my apartment! I called pro tech and told them what happened and they said it wasn’t on them because they just pass along the calls to other people, they don’t even send their own! So I have no way to hold the guy accountable."

"Imagine it's Saturday evening. You're friend is out of town and you are taking care of her fur babies but the door won't open. The keys are turning in the locks but the door isn't opening. I called Steven and explained my situation. He calmly walked me through and I got the door open. Thank you, Steven! May your kindness be repaid 100 fold."

"Accidentally locked myself out of my apartment, and my roommate was downtown and wouldn’t be home for a while. I called Pro-Tech and they were friendly on the phone and arrived to my apartment within ten minutes of calling. The price was a little steep for me ($250) and they wouldn’t give me a quote when I called. If I’d known the price before they came over, I wouldn’t have followed through. However, maybe the price was the lesson I had to learn the hard way to not lock myself out anymore. The door and knob ended up getting dented and warped due to the tools used, which I’m not sure will be an issue when I move out, but I guess I’ll have to cross that bridge when I get there. The lock still works, but the door is damaged beyond simple repair. I tried to stop him halfway through and was willing to pay the $70 fee for him just to come, but he insisted he could unlock it, and damaged my door in the process. They would only accept cash, which was also not made clear until payment was due. If I could go back in time, I probably wouldn’t have booked them, and would have either waited for my roommate to come home later or looked for a cheaper alternative."
