"I never thought I would be writing a negative review about Murray’s as a long time customer who’s been to the Murray’s Cheese Bar, their previous mac and cheese takeout restaurant, and each Murray’s location, but here we are. I decided to try their Murray’s bites on Sunday and calling their service “fast” on their sign inside is laughable. It took over a half hour to receive two grilled cheeses and a soup, each item came out 15 minutes apart, and at that point, I might as well have gone to a sit down restaurant and the food might’ve come quicker. While about a dozen people were still waiting for their orders, the employee standing behind the counter not only was standing around not making sandwiches on the sandwich press, but he was openly ignoring customers in line. One man had an entire basket of cheeses and other grocery items and waited 20 minutes in front of the register until they acknowledged him to let him pay for his items. His wife even left him behind and went outside the store because she didn’t want to wait in line any longer. One girl who had been in front of us on line hadn’t received her second item by the time we had finished eating our entire meal. For a “gourmet” cheese store that was once known for its great customer service and quality items, this is certainly not a way to run a business and frankly, this experience was a slap in the face. Once we were done eating, I didn’t even want to spend my money buying cheese from Murray’s. Next time I want a quick sandwich for lunch, I’d be treated better at a Subway."

"Short Take: Awesome spot with killer mac ’n’ cheese at a great price. Food 🍽️: Super tasty, and the large portion is more than fair. Service 🤝: Staff was friendly. Ambience ✨: If you’re lucky, you can grab a window seat — otherwise it’s more of a to-go situation. Price–Performance ⚖️: Really fair, especially for New York. Highlight / Note 📌: Absolute must-try if you’re into mac ’n’ cheese! Who it’s for: Friends, quick lunch."

"I came here for the pickles and cheese pairing for National Pickle Day. it was a great event - more fun than truly educational - but that may just be me. I didn't find the addition of pickles to the cheeses to be particularly worthwhile (and I like pickles). I also considered the pricing a little off considering the small portions of cheese and I understand that the price was really for the unlimited wines but I would have preferred more cheese and less wine. That said, I will definitely keep my eyes open for other cheese events."

"Such a cute spot! We tried their classic grilled cheese and a side of tomato soup. The grilled cheese is delicious, the cheese pull is insane. The tomato soup is good but a bit thinner than I expected. Overall, it’s really good and very filling. A bit pricey for just a sandwich but delicious nonetheless!"

"8/9/25: Wow, what a great time at the Mozzarella Cheese Making Class! Caroline was an excellent expert instructor. We had ten family members in attendance. Some housekeeping, suggestions: 1. The class description says two balls of Mozz. In reality it was only one per person. 2. The wine pours were great but maybe a bit too fast on the refills (a personal issue, I know). The cool temperature of the room was great too. Beautiful store."
