"Brought in some black patent leather loafers and was very disappointed with the outcome. They were unable to make them shine and instead made the leather WORSE by buffing it out, turning my loafers matte black instead. Please don’t lie and say you can make patent leather shiny again when you clearly can’t."

"I bought a pair of Dr. Scholls shoes from a department store in 2024 and two months of wear split the soles. I went to Michael's, and he re-soled them for me. When a pipe burst in my home's basement in 2025, I discovered my boots -- the ones I got re-soled for $100 -- are, in fact, waterproof. I could step into the 3-4" of water and come out with dry feet. The men there do great work and are worth every penny. The moral of this story is don't buy cheap department store shoes, but if you do, go to Michael's and he'll make them good quality."

"I had my wallet repaired here and left a little disappointed with the service. My wallet was starting to come undone and instead of replacing the threads by just repairing the problem spots, thread was sewn all the way around the perimeter, including places where there was no stitching before and overtop the existing thread. For $34, that might be what I should expect for effort, but they also used a white thread instead of the brown thread that was used originally. I was expecting a little more attention to detail in this job and likely will not return. Other than the end product, service was friendly and relatively fast."
