"Wow, this place is awesome. My mom grew up near there and said that this lighting repair store has been around for a long time. I think I remember it from the 80s. If I'm not mistaken, I used to buy hockey equipment at the Carnival store next door...maybe. When you walk in, the place strikes you as a "Mythbusters Lab for Lamps" - or a special edition of "Antiques Roadshow, Lamps Edition"...something between the two, your pick. The lady at the desk was very nice and gave me insight to the 63 year old lamp that I brought in. She made it clear that it was an antique. She was very personable. The gentleman took one look at the socket and wiring and made the repair in just a few minutes. They both knew their craft inside and out. I'd give them six stars if I could. Thank you both for resolving the issue."

"This place is the best. I recently had a lamp shipped from a store in Los Angeles and when it arrived, it was super wobbly. I popped into Lighting For You and the woman who runs the shop is so sweet. She said her colleague would take care of it. It was ready a few days later, good as new (for a vintage lamp)! Would definitely come again for any other lamp repairs in the future."

"Eddie rewired and cleaned a total of 8 antique light fixtures for us. His craftsmanship and attention to detail were amazing, and he was also very helpful in giving us guidance on rehanging a particularly tricky fixture. Sharon was friendly and helpful throughout the process. This couple loves what they do and it shows. Prices are fair and the quality of work is just SUBERB! I highly recommend Brooklyn Lamp Repair for any light repair and restoration needs."

"What an amazing little gem of a shop nestled in Brooklyn. I had hoped to rewire a chandelier on my own and quickly realized I needed someone with expertise to do it. Eddie did the job quickly and Sharon offered to reattach the crystals that I had removed in order to rewire it, all for a reasonable price. In a time when people buy and dispose of stuff, it is so rare to find craftspeople who can restore beautiful old fixtures at an affordable price. THANK YOU!!"

"I had my great grandmother's hanging capiz shell lamp shipped from CA a few weeks ago. In packaging and shipping, the wires were bent, the lamp no longer worked, and it hadn't been cleaned in years. I found Brooklyn Lamp Repair on yelp and sent a message. The office responded within 5 minutes and I set up an appointment to bring my lamp to Eddie. Upon meeting Eddie and Sharon, I knew my lamp was in good hands. Throughout the process they were communicative and fair. I picked up my lamp yesterday and it turned out better than I could have imagined. Eddie takes the time to do incredible work. Everyone in the shop is just genuinely kind, caring and talented. You can tell they really love what they do and do it well. I highly recommend this business to anyone with lamp repair/restoration needs!"
