"I’ve been coming to Avey Tailoring for years, and they never disappoint! Whether it’s revising or redesigning existing clothes or bringing my own ideas to life from scratch, they always deliver with perfect craftsmanship and attention to detail. They work beautifully with all kinds of fabrics, and the results always fit just right. It’s rare to find a tailor who can combine creativity with precision like this — I always leave completely satisfied. Highly recommend!"

"Brought my wedding dress to be hemmed and wanted to add bra cups into the dress. There’s no AC or fan or air in the dressing area so I was hot and sweating the whole time. She told me she can’t add the bra pads because there’s not enough layers to cover them and they don’t match. We wanted to have my dress ready for when we come back from vacation so we were in a rush. Got my dress back and brought it home. tried it on 2 days later (could’ve checked right away but I already knew I wouldn’t want them touching it again if they messed up) the dress is hemmed all crooked it’s longer on one side. she also ignored my request of hemming the back and just left it long. While I was putting on my dress she was arguing with some woman telling her she also can’t do something that woman wanted to do. She has too many opinions. I was able to put in the bra pads in myself at home and I will have a different tailored fix the hem and secure the padding in place. STAY AWAY! absolute waste of my money and my time!"

"Absolutely disgusting behavior. The lady there treated me like I’m an annoyance the moment I stepped into the store. I had two pants that I needed to hem and after measuring my pants, I asked for the price and she took a few seconds to think and quoted me $50 (which makes me question whether there is a set rate or if she just quotes randomly). I kindly told her that there’s another tailor shop that I go to that is priced slightly lower and she justified her price by saying it’s because of the fabric and that the pants are “wider”. I kindly apologized and said I would like to try the other tailor store before making a decision and she cut me off before I even got to finish what I was saying and was like “okay whatever I don’t know”. Keep in mind this whole time I was nothing but nice to her and her attitude towards me was just plain rude and disrespectful. I would not recommend this place to anyone. If she was actually nice to me, I would have yielded to her price but clearly, she doesn’t care about her business or else she wouldn’t have treated me that way. I felt that because I am Asian American she discriminated against me. I wouldn’t be surprised if she has a better attitude towards people of her own ethnicity. My reply to the owner's reply: I DID NOT want to bargain more. I apologize for not stating in my review above about the $45 offer but I also want to make it crystal clear that I DID NOT IN ANY WAY ask for an even lower price. In fact, right after the $45 offer was when I apologized and said that I would like to try the other tailor place. There might have been a language barrier but it's not hard to be nice and that is my main issue with this place. As I've mentioned in my review above that if she was actually nice to me, I would have yielded to the price and gave you my business. I'm someone that values customer service and I did not feel that her rude attitude towards me was her "doing her best" to help. I refuse to give my business to any store that treats their customer like this."

"The WORST service I’ve seen in my whole life- I got my coats back burned and not properly cleaned 11/30 I came and dropped off two coats. Roza didn’t give me a receipt and instead she took down my number and said that she would confirm on a price via phone call and then provide me with a receipt 12/02 I returned because I realized I left my MetroCard in my coat, and since she wasn’t answering my phone calls on the number listed on Google, I was hoping to speak to her in person. She let me know that she had sent my coats out to a different place to be cleaned. I was upset because she didn’t call me to let me know on the price, and she still didn’t have a price confirmed for me. I left that day without a receipt or the metro card which she should have checked the pockets before sending it out 12/10 I returned because I needed my coats back and still hadn’t gotten a receipt or a price confirmation. We had a hard time understanding each other up until now, so I began using Google translate. I speak English and Spanish, and she spoke, mostly Russian and some English. She was not answering my questions on Google translate, so she called her child to translate for us. Her child told me that the price would be $100 for everything and Roza understood that and confirmed it. I had to insist multiple times to get my receipt and never was told when I would expect to my coats to be ready. She gave me her number and told me to call her to check up on the status of that. I was confused and then she admitted that she lost my phone number, so I asked if I could at least pay now to avoid issues in the future. She said she wasn’t going to do that until they were ready, and it would be cash only. I finally had a receipt with no price and no actual date of when my coats would be ready. 12/15 I came back and my coats are ready, but the price was now $183. I’m not the type of person to haggle a price or skip on a tip, but by this point I waited for over two weeks for coats with burns and stains on the coat. She used google translate to try to understand me but it didn’t help because she was now saying that the coats were $100 each and she made it seem like she was doing me a favor by marking it at $183. I called the police since she began getting hostile and getting close to me demanding the money for a job poorly done. After I hung up on the police she then settled for the $100 and kicked me out of the shop and told me she didn’t want business with me NYC is full of foreigners with different language skills, but they still know how to run a business and provide a product or service. I’m a business major who also runs a business and has a background in marketing and entrepreneurship. Perhaps she has satisfied her previous customers, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they spoke Russian too. I felt discriminated and disrespected, and I don’t suggest coming here unless you’re a Russian speaker. And even if you dare come here, think twice about the quality you want for your items."

"Really beautiful work altering a dress that was too big. I needed it a week and a half before a wedding and Rosa did it for me in a week. She worked hard to understand and communicate effectively with me and I really appreciated it. Will definitely come back now that I know I have a tailor I can rely on."
