"After some intense online research to find a Mediterranean restaurant near Times Square that catered to locals rather than tourists, we hit upon Turco Mediterranean Grill, which was a quick walk from our hotel and within walking distance of the theatre we were headed to later that evening. It turned out to be a great pick—a hole-in-the-wall that served up some of the best authentic Turkish food we’ve had. I started with the lentil soup, which had a subtle but tasty flavor and velvety consistency. Following that, we had two appetizers: the dolma had a mint-dominant flavor that complimented the consistency of these rice-stuffed grape leaves, which was more tender than dolma I’ve had before; and the quinoa salad, featuring a fluffy quinoa with various chunks of vegetable mixed in—very refreshing. For a main course I had the falafel plate—a bounteous dish of five savory falafel balls with zesty dollops of tahini sauce on top and bordering a bed of colorful greens bursting with a flavorful vinegar dressing, fresh slices of tomato, some deliciously flavored whole grain rice and equally flavorful hummus, and a delectably spicy ezme sauce on the side. I’m kicking myself for not having ordered dessert—we will have to return for another meal. Turco’s was a great find—generous portions of quality food at a very reasonable price, and a convenient location within walking distance of most Broadway theaters."

"Next up is Turco Mediterranean Grill, a casual yet authentic spot my friend and I stopped by for lunch after the gym on a breezy Tuesday afternoon. Nestled along 9th Avenue, the restaurant has that easy, unfussy charm that makes it ideal for a post-workout meal—warm, inviting, and full of the comforting aroma of grilled meats and fresh bread. We ordered the Chicken Shish Sandwich and Ayran, a combination that proved both familiar and refreshing. The sandwich arrived perfectly wrapped, the chicken tender and deeply seasoned, carrying that smoky, charred flavor that only a true grill can achieve. Each bite felt balanced—the warmth of the pita, the crispness of the vegetables, and the creamy tang of the sauce working together in quiet harmony. Paired with the cold Ayran, it was exactly the kind of meal that restores both energy and mood. Having tried countless Turkish spots in the city, I’ve often found the shish kebab to fall short—either too dry, too bland, or overpowered by sauce. But this was different. Turco Mediterranean Grill stood out for its simplicity done right: well-cooked, thoughtfully seasoned, and genuinely satisfying. I can’t recall the name of the person who served us, but he was exceptionally kind—welcoming in a way that felt instinctive rather than rehearsed. If you ever find yourself in Midtown craving a quick, flavorful meal without compromise, Turco Mediterranean Grill is a place worth noting. It’s the kind of spot that reminds you how much beauty can exist in something as simple as a perfectly grilled sandwich."

"Fast takeout, or sit down and enjoy the food with good service! This is the best authentic Turkish grill food I've had since when I lived in Hamburg. Turco does not mess around. Everything on the menu is excellent, and it will be prepared according to your request - highly recommended! JH 5+ stars in Midtown Manhattan"

"I had a meal at the restaurant with my friend. It’s a small and clean place. You have the chance to see how all the dishes are prepared. I can say it's very clean. We specifically came for the chicken gyro. It was no different from the ones we had in Turkey. The portions were quite good. The prices were very reasonable. The staff were very friendly and helpful."
