"Highly recommend The Local Events in LIC! Joy and the team at The Local Events made booking our event seamless and stress-free. They were incredibly attentive when weather conditions threatened to impact our plans, going above and beyond to ensure everything went smoothly. The view is absolutely stunning – it's truly one of the best features of the space. If you're looking for a beautiful venue in Long Island City with a team that genuinely cares about your event's success, this is the place to book. Thank you, Joy, for all your help!"

"The neighborhood is a bit rough looking but I have experienced no issues with walking up and down the streets. The front in check in are pretty good, thry ask if first time to a hostel and explain how it works. The rooms are super clean actually too"

"This is one of my favorites in the entire world. Everything about this place is incredible. The location is good, right next to a train stop. You dont need to stay in Manhattan, It's 3 stops away. The bed was so comfortable, I slept like a baby. The staff are SO NICE. Seriously. And the rooftop patio was amazing, even though it was so cold out. Please, PLEASE do yourself a favor and stay here. Highly recommend!"

"The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. They have a good bar to spend time. Your first coffee/beer is complimentary. Finding a parking spot nearby is a challenge as they don't have their own parking. But the staff helped me find a spot nearby. The location is mostly industrial and not residential. So expect some scraps and broken cars on the road sides. The 23st subway is a 5 min walk from the hosyel. The hostel has a good lobby area where you can work on your laptop of three need be. The bathrooms were clean. There was in room toilet and bathroom as well in the dormitories. The toilet size is a bit too small though. They cleaning staff does a wonderful job to keep rooms and bathrooms clean all the time. Please note that they don't have elevators, so it may be a concern for people with disabilities. And a special mention of the splendid view of the skyline from the roof!"

"It was a great stay, a bit pricey for a hostel. The on-site café serves coffee in the morning and booze at night. You get a complimentary drink with your stay. A beer or a wine that is. The service was great, I do appreciate the 24hr desk. The rooming floors are quite musty, as are the rooms. I think a good idea would be to not have carpet floors, maybe just some runners outside the bathroom. On check in, I think it's vital to inform each guest which bunk in the room is theirs (higher or lower), as when I got back to my room after going out all night, someone was asleep in my bunk, and had incidentally used my dirty towel. It didn't bother me so much, but it was quite confusing to come back to at 4am. I'd stay again in a pinch."
