"What a great place! Enjoying every single detail of this fish and sea food experience. Chef/owner passionately explaining all the elements of his creation, from origin of the produce to the cooking process. Waiters caring for our needs as a plus! Kudos all the way to this place."

"I went to Scales, yesterday on Thursday, December 4, 2025. I ordered the PoBoy sandwich. All I can say is that the sandwich was off the chart! It was a huge sandwich and well worth the price. It had 10 large shrimp, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions and the remoulade sauce or whatever the sauce is called. This sandwich was the bomb. I drove all the way from North Newark to eat at Scales. My friend lives around the corner from Scales and I always wanted to eat here. First off the place is totally adorable. The counter person Sully was a sweet heart. He shared a lot of information on the menu. I had looked at the Scallop, BLT but went with my first choice. I also met the gentleman who made the sandwich. Both men spoke wonderfully about he restaurant. So, today, Friday, December 5th I heated up my left over sandwich and it was as delicious as the fresh one that I ordered yesterday. I will definitely come back as the quality of the seafood is excellent. On a "scale" of 1-10 this place in "100.""

"@Scale is always great food. Fresh and delicious! Blackened fish sandwich and lobster rolls are best in town. Oysters never disappoint. Scale is a Local favorite! Definitely make the trip if you’re in the Newport or Hamilton park area of Jersey City"

"We had the lobster roll for take out (very delish, lobster was the star), but the move would be to bring a bottle of wine (it’s byob) and sit outside under one of their adorable umbrellas for table service. Staff were very nice. Will be back!"
