"I've been searching for an authentic dining experience in this area, and Sakura has become my absolute go-to spot. I've visited several times now, and each visit reinforces why I keep coming back. What strikes me most is the consistent freshness – you can actually taste the difference in the quality. The fried shrimp are perfectly crispy, and the crawfish are impressively large and flavorful. That daikon and carrot salad with the subtle sweet dressing? I find myself craving it between visits. Here's something I rarely mention in reviews, but your soy sauce is exceptional – it's smooth and balanced, not bitter like most store-bought versions. I'd genuinely love to know your secret if you're willing to share! The atmosphere deserves special mention. The second-floor location offers lovely views, and the terrace is a hidden gem. The interior is thoughtfully designed, and I appreciate that the plates are generously sized – it shows you want guests to truly enjoy their meal, not just sample it. Your staff makes every visit pleasant. They're attentive without hovering, quick without rushing you, and genuinely friendly. The cleanliness throughout – dining area, restrooms, everything – reflects the pride you take in this establishment. The variety keeps me interested: excellent sashimi and sushi, flavorful soups, perfectly prepared fish (both fried and in broths), delicious baked shellfish, and those purple buns for dessert are delightful. Everything feels carefully prepared, not mass-produced. The ferry ride from Manhattan adds to the experience – 20 minutes of ocean air and Statue of Liberty views, then I'm at your door. It's become my ritual. Honestly, I'm puzzled why the rating isn't higher. This restaurant deserves more recognition. I'll keep coming back and recommending Sakura to anyone looking for quality Japanese cuisine at fair prices. Thank you for maintaining such high standards!"

"I went there on weekday afternoon, the restaurant is not big, as a Japanese buffet, the sushi is just so so, and selection is limited. The cooked foods are better. However the cold dishes such as jellyfish, black fungus and chicken feet don't taste good due to the sauce, it is too strong and the smell is wired. The cooked crab, shrimp, clams etc are decent, cooked foods are alright. The dessert section is very small and they do have ice cream. For 16.99 and 10 % off not include drink, it is just ok."

"Absolutely Outstanding! Sakura Buffet in Staten Island is hands down one of the best buffet experiences I’ve had in a long time. The food variety is incredible — from beautifully presented sushi rolls that are fresh and flavorful, to an amazing seafood selection with juicy crawfish, perfectly cooked shrimp, and tender clams. The cold bar is packed with fresh salads and appetizers, and everything tastes as good as it looks. The presentation is gorgeous, with vibrant greenery and a clean, modern setup that makes every dish look even more appetizing. The staff is attentive, friendly, and quick to clear plates without being intrusive. Everything feels fresh, well-prepared, and constantly replenished. If you’re looking for a place that has both quality and quantity, Sakura Buffet is the perfect spot. Whether you love sushi, seafood, or just a great variety of hot and cold dishes, this place delivers it all — and does it exceptionally well. Highly recommend!"

"The ambiance is very clean and beautiful. The food variety was diverse and tasty. They have snow crab legs which is a plus for me. However, my daughter who is 12yrs old was charged full adult price. No buffets we’ve gone to has ever charged her full adult price so I don’t think it’s right. However, being that they’re new I did not want to argue about that, but definitely not worth it for kids. So I will not be returning with my kids."

"I have never left a review before but this is so nasty I had to. First of all, the bathroom was disguising nasty🤮. After eating some amount of food and walked into a bathroom like this, it is ridiculous nasty and upsetting your stomach. There is plenty of employees staff all over the place but not a single employee checked the bathroom. Secondly, the food tastes below average and is definitely not worth the price. The lobster looks horrible that I didn’t even have any. By paying a few dollars difference, I can definitely visit a better buffet in Staten Island. Parking is also very inconvenience. Overall, not a good experience. Will not be coming back to visit this place again."
