"I love this place! The food is homemade and delicious every bite from the beginning to the end. The drinks are great and the service is wonderful. Highly recommend it. Best to make a reservation if you're going on the weekends"

"Wow! Same fresh, delicious cuisine. Completely expanded and renovated dining space. Tastefully decorated and yet still cozy. Gil, our server, was fantastic!"

"Great find while looking for someplace new in the Ironbound. I can usually tell how great an establishment is by the cleanliness of the restroom. The restroom was clean and had a vibe. That made me want to eat there. The choices were great. Loved the calamari and garlic shrimp. My friends' chicken, rice and beans, and yuka fries were tasty, too. Wish we had tried the sangria and dessert. Next time!"

"Tucked humbly into the Ironbound heart of Newark, Sabor Unido may appear unassuming at first glance... but step inside, and you’ll find yourself wrapped in the warm, familial embrace of a restaurant that understands not just food, but feeling. The interior is intimate, tastefully adorned, and radiates a quiet pride. It’s the kind of place where tables are close, laughter carries, and the clink of silverware feels like part of the music. A little snug, yes, but delightfully so. It feels like home. The staff, attentive and gracious, treat you like an old friend returning for a long-awaited meal. There is no performance here, only genuine hospitality. And then, there is the food. Let me confess: I am not typically drawn to fish. Yet their Broiled Codfish with Onions and Peppers was a revelation. Flaky, delicate, and subtly seasoned to let the natural richness of the fish speak for itself. I paired it with quinoa and mushrooms, an unexpected harmony that played like a symphony of earth and sea. But the true measure of this place came not from my own palate, but from my Brazilian companion, who wept quietly at the table. These were tears of nostalgia, from dishes that honored tradition without bending to trend, and flavors that spoke of home across continents. Sabor Unido does more than serve food, it serves memory, identity, and heart. A rare gem. Unforgettable."

"Sabor Unido is a fantastic Portuguese-Brazilian restaurant. We came as a large party of 19, and they were very well organized — they arranged three tables for us seamlessly. As soon as we were seated, they brought out bread and water. Our server was kind, attentive, and very diligent throughout the meal. For starters, we ordered the calamari and chicken croquettes — both were delicious. For entrees, our group enjoyed a variety of dishes: roasted chicken with potatoes, rice and beans, hanger steak with sweet plantains, skirt steak with salad, and parmesan chicken with fettuccine. Everything came out correctly and was absolutely delicious. To drink they have my favorite: freshly squeezed orange juice. They also have a variety of drinks and coffee. For dessert, we shared the tiramisu and tres leches — both were amazing. The restaurant is clean, has a welcoming atmosphere, and also offers outdoor seating. We definitely recommend Sabor Unido to others!"
