"I witnessed a distasteful exchange between a customer and owner/manager. The owner/manager should really consider listening to customers rather than arguing with them (or even try to deescalate the situation). Have some decency for other patrons who just want to enjoy a quiet late night dinner."

"Tucked into the lively rhythm of Chinatown, Phở Grand is one of those rare New York institutions where time seems to slow—just enough for a familiar bowl of broth to feel like a homecoming. As a regular, you begin to understand why this unpretentious spot has sustained its loyal following for decades: it delivers comfort with the quiet confidence of a place that knows exactly who it is. The phở is the star, of course—its broth deeply layered, shimmering with the kind of clarity that only comes from hours of tending. Each bowl arrives fragrant with star anise and charred aromatics, light yet impossibly rich, the sort of balance that feels deceptively simple until you try to find it anywhere else. The slices of beef are tender, the noodles silken, and the accoutrements—Thai basil, lime, crisp sprouts—always fresh enough to brighten the entire bowl. Yet to visit Phở Grand only for the phở would be a mistake. The grilled pork chops are a quiet triumph: beautifully marinated, lightly caramelized on the edges, and carrying a smoky sweetness that pairs effortlessly with broken rice. It’s a dish that feels both everyday and indulgent—exactly the kind of plate regulars claim as their own. Service is brisk in the way that Chinatown restaurants often are—efficient, unfussy, and warm once you become part of the familiar faces that return week after week. The dining room hums with a steady chorus of families, longtime locals, and savvy diners who know that some of the city’s best meals are found where pretension is joyfully absent. Phở Grand isn’t trying to reinvent anything. Instead, it perfects the essentials: a restorative bowl of broth, a plate of grilled pork done right, and an atmosphere that rewards your loyalty with consistency. In a neighborhood rich with culinary options, this is the place you return to—not because it is flashy, but because it feels like yours."

"The pho served here is good and the garnishes provided enhance it greatly. I recommend to order the pho with side of grilled beef/pork/chicken. The crispy spring rolls were better overall. I'd say the best item out of the two is the crispy spring rolls."

"Very mid basic pho here. If you’re looking to satisfy your soupy craving for pho, this may do it. But don’t expect anything more than the average- run of the mill pho here. The broth is decent but nothing special. Average noodles and beef for the #1 pho dac biet too."
