"At this price point, Petey’s has a very solid burger. I must admit that there is WAY too much onion though (and I’m normally a fan of onion on my burgers). I mean, every bite tasted like 50% onion and 50% everything else. But if you take it off, it’s not a big deal. The shoestring fries are quite good, and you get a good amount. May or may not come back-not the best, but definitely not the worst."

"*sigh* Walked past this spot plenty of times for 2 years while just walking the neighborhood or going to nearby restaurants like Centro &/or Bareburger. Slightly curious because I like to know all the good burger spots but with Bareburger being a block a way but more importantly burgers being made at home, no need. Today was the day. Been craving a burger for a few weeks & w/the recent closing of Paper Plates(Long Island City, Queens), I decided to type 'burgers' into Google Maps. A few spots came up with Bareburger & Petey's Burger being 2 of them. I decided to check Petey's reviews & pictures out. I see shoestring fries, which I'm not crazy about but they're very tolerable so I didn't let that turn me away. I'm looking at the pictures posted and thinking to myself 'these are inviting' but I still went because 'hey 4.2/5 ⭐ is a good rating" Upon walking into the establishment, I don't smell any food scents in the air despite about 5 people sitting down eating. That's a strategy that my lady goes by😘 I order a plain hamburger and regular size fries. I went to wash my hands and as soon as I sat down, my food was ready. 🤔 I go to inspect my burger and it has an onion, lettuce, tomato and cheese. What part of plain is this?? I take it back and calmly stated that I requested plain. I'm pretty sure they just swapped the buns but what restaurants don't realize is that taste is still on the food. I asked for ketchup and after putting the ketchup on the bun(1 side. This is important)I give the burger a shot. That ketchup was the worst! Oh my! It was so bad I just started eating a bunch of fries. Eventually I come back to the burger and tried again. I had to spit it out. I have pics of that if need be🤮. To help, I took the bun w/ketchup off and folded the burger with remaining bun. I tried to watch again but I couldn't finish the burger. At this point I'm just eating fries to replace the nasty taste of the burger & fries. After discarding the food, I just couldn't wait to find a Target to buy some Albanese gummy bears & get back to the office to drink water with them. That after taste was insane. Also the buns were not fresh or remotely close. Idk how this is rated a 4.2 but if I had to guess, people prioritized the price over the taste. I'll go back to Bareburger if I ever get a craving for a burger while in this neighborhood"

"This burger joint serves delicious burgers that are flavorful without being greasy. The fries were crispy and perfectly seasoned, complementing the meal well. The shake was good—simple and satisfying, though not particularly memorable. Service was fast and friendly, making the experience even better. The restaurant itself is small, with limited seating, but it’s a great spot for a quick and tasty meal."

"This is a hidden gem, at under $10, their burger is fantastic value. They serve a simple yet satisfying burger: two thin patties, thick onion slice, fresh tomato, crisp lettuce, and melty cheese. It's greasy with a robust beefy flavor, though slightly on the salty side. While the Cajun fries emulate the Five Guys seasoning. Fresh and chewy, they are on the thinner side but pack a flavorful punch. Its definitely worth a visit for anyone craving a solid, no-frills burger experience."

"Wow! These burgers are amazing. I had the opportunity to chat with the owner who told me In and Out Burgers, on the West Coast, was the original inspiration for Petey's. Well, as much as I enjoy me an In and Out burger, Petey's has left them in the dust. Burgers and fries are on the menu, not much more than that but they don't need much more! My wife had the Petey Melt, a burger with carmelized onions, and cheese perfectly grilled and served on an inside out bun, buttered and toasted to perfection. I had a Double Cheese with lettuce, tomato, raw onions, and an amazing sauce they called Russian but I call delicious. The vibe is kind of neighborhoody but perfect for the fare. The burgers are made from premium beef patties. They are SLOPPY, but in that enchanting way that makes eating them all the more enjoyable. The fries are great, crispy, lightly salted and hot, onion rings richly breaded and fried to a delicate brown with flavor over the top. Here's the capper to all this, prices are right there wth most fast food joints. The staff is stellar, the prices are downright cheap and the food is incredibly delectible. Dont. Miss. Petey's."
