"I went to this quirky little burger place a couple of months ago. The staff were friendly, and it seemed like a bunch of the other people eating there were regulars, similar to the similarly old-school but very different B+H Dairy a couple of doors down. While the burgers are pretty big, the price point is a bit high for a burger, especially when it comes to adding accompaniments (I've honestly never heard of any place charging more for lettuce, for instance.) I didn't bother with a drink and ordered a medium rare Deluxe Mushroom Burger, with the deluxe option adding lettuce and tomato on the side, along with fries. I also asked for pickles. In general, the deluxe option is $7 more. The burger is listed as "smothered with mushrooms," and was $20.25 for the deluxe option. The burger itself was the size of those you can find at many diners, but compared to those diners, it was much juicier, though maybe it could have used a little more salt. The bun eventually fell apart from the juiciness of the burger, and there is a kaiser roll option for a dollar more, but I wouldn't bother. The mushrooms were a bit different from the usual ones on burgers, which I was happy about. They were meaty, and there was indeed a whole lot of them, so the add-on was worth it. The fries were pretty standard, with a good amount of crispiness, and were salty enough. For the price, I wouldn't bother getting the deluxe version next time. The burger was juicy enough that the tomato and lettuce weren't necessary, while the fries weren't good enough on their own that I would pay $7 more just for them and the other toppings. For a bit over $14 before tax and tip, I would definitely get it again. However, if I wanted to pay over $20 for a burger, I'd rather stop at other places that also offer cheese or much better fries, such as my favorite burger at Wollensky's Grill, or somewhere else. I might also try their smash burger next time, which I think was $8.50 or a dollar more. I can see why they've been in business for a while, though similar to other spots serving junkier food, I probably won't be back for a while."

"This place was very unique, the vibes was very relaxed. The portions were nice nice and the food came out quickly, unfortunately nothing was seasoned. The place wasn’t busy, we were the only ones in the restaurant. Other than that. It’s very nice and they accept credit/debit cards now."

"I mean…. When in NYC you either want to try the best at all cost or try the cheaper version of it. In my case I wanted to keep it easy and local. This is a very reasonable classic American burger. Doesn’t pretend and it’s just well executed."

"I loved my visit to Paul’s. This family-owned spot has some of the best burgers in NYC, and the customer service is exceptional. I tried the signature burger and the jalapeño poppers, and it was juicy and packed with flavor. The staff made me feel like family, and the owner even shared some great stories. If you’re looking for delicious burgers and a warm atmosphere, this place is a must-try! Highly recommended!"

"This place is the bomb!! Not a fancy gourmet burger, just simple and delicious. Nothing is worse in my opinion than an overly fancy burger. This is a great quality and flavor of meat and toppings, simple but fresh bun (best attribute), great fries as well. Love the service and food you get here."
