"This is the best market for fresh fish and seafood. As if you went fishing right before cooking. They clean and descale the fish for you. Friendly staff with great customer service. I grew up coming here with my parents - this place has been around forever. Highly recommend."

"The best fish market in Queens and one of the last, sturdiest pillars of Greek food culture left in a rapidly gentrifying Astoria. They have a much wider range of options than you'll typically find elsewhere, including both local seasonal items (softshell blue crab in the summers, sea urchins when it's cooler) and imported Mediterranean specialties (red mullet, red shrimp). If you like to cook seafood, odds are you'll find something here that gets you really excited, whether that's a particularly fresh-looking fluke, a regal scorpionfish, or a succulent monkfish liver. Knowledgeable, friendly staff and an iconic aquarium-kitsch exterior only add to the experience."

"First time trying this fish market after years in Astoria passing right by it. Wow was I missing out. The fish I got was so fresh and delicious! I wanted a nice fresh fish for dinner, and I never seem to find good options in the regular supermarket so I decided to stop in here. I got the Flounder. It was a BIG, nice, clean fillet of fish. Perfectly cleaned and filleted, ready to cook. I went home and made it right away, baked in the oven, and wow it was delicious. Happy I finally tried this great local fish market so I don't have to go to a restaurant every time I want a nice fish dinner. I don't cook fish often so was reluctant to ever go into this market and shop for fish, but this turned out so good just baked in the oven with some basic seasonings. So fresh and delicious! I felt like I was on an island and treating myself to a fresh caught fish. Will definitely be coming back and getting that Flounder again, and maybe try the other fish, too. BIG, fresh clean fillet. The service was nice. Loved my piece of fish tonight and looking forward to coming back!"
