"New Star Fish Market is a standout spot for fresh seafood. The first thing you notice when you walk in is how clean and well-kept the place is—there’s none of that overpowering fishy smell you might expect. The staff is incredibly professional and knowledgeable, and without even asking, they make it a point to educate you on what you’re buying. They clearly take pride in what they do. Their selection is top-notch, with a great variety of fresh fish and seafood. You never have to fight for their attention—they’re welcoming, hospitable, and happy to answer any questions. It also helps that the market is in a facility with other high-quality food shops, including butchers, cheeses, and wines, making it a perfect one-stop spot for putting together a great meal. Highly recommend checking them out!"

"I live right by China town and I prefer to walk out of my way to buy fish from them. To see how much care and attention they put into keeping their fish fresh, worth the trip! I had been buying from them months now. Never disappointed, always good!"

"A great place to buy some high end quality fish to get the healthy omega flowing through your blood stream. Came hear a couple of times and haven't been disappointed. Chilean Sea Bass is the best I have eaten as far as fish is concerned. Meaty, flaky and very few bones. Got to ding them a star on the cost and the scales that were throughly scrapped off."

"New Star Fish Market is a medium-sized seafood market, located in the Essex Market. this market has a variety of fresh fish, shrimp, and more to buy by the pound. you can buy whole fishes, fillets, etc. fish variety is pretty standard: salmon, porgy, tilapia, etc. you can buy raw shrimp and shell/devein them at home—or you can buy them cleaned at a higher price. New Star looks very clean and the fish market is not fishy-smelling at all. recently i bought some shrimp to grill and was totally happy i did. the shrimp quality-wise tasted way better than frozen raw shrimp outta the bag. shelling and deveining took a little bit of time but it’s all worth it if you are cooking. as using fresh ingredients make all the difference in a dish. the prices are good and comparable to any fish market in the city. the staff if efficient. drops mic cuz nothing fishy is going on here"
