"I stumbled on Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao on my way out of my upcoming new office in the middle of Manhattan and I am so glad I went in. I tried the house specials, the soup dumplings and the dumpling soup, and ordered bok choy as an appetizer. Everything was delicious. The dumplings were delicate and full of flavor, the soup was rich, and the bok choy was perfectly cooked. The atmosphere felt authentic, like I was eating in Asia, and the staff were warm and attentive. I noticed on my way out that the restaurant has been recognized by the Michelin Guide for several years, and that recognition is well deserved. The food quality was outstanding and the prices were not overly expensive. Highly recommend."

"Their soup dumplings is a must-try and probably the best around Midtown if you’re looking for one. We always pair it with their dumplings, fried rice and pork chop. Their food is well priced too. The place can get busy during lunch and dinner time so I suggest turning up early."

"My friend a I randomly stumbled across this place- and it was such a good find! I can’t believe they have vegetarian xiao long bao- it was soupy and perfect. The veggie noodle soup and the crispy noodles were pretty good and the portion sizes for the mains are huge! It’s also very affordable; 12-15$ for a large main. The vegetarian menu is a little small but I’m glad they have options. Highly recommend!"

"The location is excellent, with nice interior design and a clean environment. However, the food was underwhelming. The dumpling fillings all tasted very similar, as if the same base was used with just a few extra ingredients added. The so-called “Crab Roe Soup Dumplings” didn’t really have the authentic flavor. I’ve tried the same varieties at other soup-dumpling specialists, and they were much better. The entrées, the pork ribs, dumplings, and wok-fried vegetables—were very average. The only dish I truly enjoyed was the noodles, which I would recommend trying. Service was also just average."

"Right across the street from the Empire State Building is Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao, home to some of the best wontons and soup dumplings I have ever had. After about a 30-minute wait we were seated and started ordering right away. We chose the Bok Choy, Shrimp and Pork & Veg Wontons in Spicy Peanut Sauce, Braised Beef Noodle Soup, and of course the Nan Xiang Soup Dumplings. Every dish was outstanding. My favorite was the Shrimp and Pork & Veg Wontons in Spicy Peanut Sauce, which were simply unforgettable. Now I understand why this place is always so busy. It really is that good, and I will definitely be back for more!"
