"Absolutely loved the food at Masala Cafe in Jersey City! The Dindigul Mutton Biryani was bursting with authentic South Indian flavor — perfectly spiced and tender. The Chicken 65 was crisp, juicy, and full of flavor, while the Pomfret Fish Fry tasted super fresh and well-marinated. The Mutton Chukka was rich and mouthwatering — just like homemade. Definitely one of the best South Indian spots around! Highly recommended!"

"We were 3, ordered Pomfret fry, Sambar Vada , kal dosai, Atu kaal paya & Chicken Biriyani. Was slightly doubtful of getting authentic chettinad taste. To our surprise, taste was really good 😋, all items served fresh in no time. Like the ambience , as it reflects local TN restaurant. I would recommend this place if you are in NJ & missing good TN food. I thank my friend Sarang who brought me here. ☺️ Next time when am in NJ will visit here for sure 👏👏 They are doing Online delivery, it would be a good food to have during cold weather."

"Do go to this restaurant for a good chettinad cuisine.. when you’re in journal Square in Indian Street. You will see multiple different restaurants within a span of hundred meters… and I’m sure you’ll be confused where to eat.. if you’re craving for a good south Indian spicy food food I strongly suggest this restaurant.. it’s also BYOB.. fantastic service.. the biggest headache is parking.. It’s hard to get street parking and I had to pay about $12 for the parking… if not for the parking this restaurant has only positives . I also had food in their Edison branch. We ordered chicken Chuka and it was really peppery and good.. perfect South Indian aRoma and taste.. my friend had fish fry and he just loved it.. there were five or six small pieces of the fry.. I still think it’s slightly expensive about $20-$22 for the fish and generally all of the dishes.. the best one was dindukal thalapakatti biryani . Nice and very tasty . Good experience overall. Wanted to give a 4 star but gave a 5 star just for the taste and service !!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"

"Updating my review following my recent visit for dining in dinner. We were specifically here for the Biryani and asked our server if they have some like Hyderabadi dum Biryani or something similar to it, she said yeah we do have and recommend us something called Thukku Biryani not sure if that’s it is called she assured that its like Hyderabadi Biryani and all that. As our order arrived it was nothing but tomato rice flavored rice and chicken masala on the top. We took our first bite and expressed our concern to the server that it was not what we were expecting for she said she will replace the order and got something else back which tasted the exact same. We understand that every restaurant doesn’t serve the same way they have their unique ways the servers must have the basic knowledge talking to the customer. After all these chaos we were not given water until asked half a way done through food. Their Indochinese items were good. Not sure about all these super positive reviews doesn’t seem right. Month Ago: Placed a last minute order with some basic customization, both the dishes we tried and were good and highly recommend it."

"Recently visited here ordered chicken lollipop, chicken Hakka noodles, and thukku biryani. The chicken lollipop and noodles were really tasty and well made, but the biryani was a bit disappointing and didn’t meet our expectations. The service was okay, but it could have been friendlier and quicker. Overall, it’s a decent place to try, with some good dishes, but there’s room for improvement especially with the biryani and service."
