"It’s easy to miss Mama’s Cupboard because of its sub-street level location. But you’ll be pleasantly surprised by its jazz bar ambiance. Thumbs up for the fried rice bowl lunch special ($14 plus tax). The crispy tofu remained crispy because it was placed on top rather than cooked with the rice. The Thai iced tea was served after the food came out, a bit odd when drinks are usually served first. Please note that the suggested tips are based on the taxed total."

"This restaurant feels like a necessary part of my life now. The employees deliver exceptional service. The rates won't strain your wallet, the menu is simple, and food tastes good. Absolutely delicious. This place deserves more recognition."

"Although the food is good this place and how they run things is pretty dishonest. I went in to order a BBQ Pork sandwhich. Outside there's a flyer posted on the wall that says a sandwhich was $8.50 + $0.50 for added pork. So I went in. I ordered said sandwhich and was charged $12 for sandwhich + $4 for added pork. This was really weird to me because that's a huge difference from the flyer. I paid $17+ with added tax. Then I went on doordash and saw the price was $12 dollars + $0.50. The total was around $13+. There was no deal on DoorDash. I showed the person who charged me the price listed on doordash and also mentioned the price on the flyer posted outside. They pulled in another coworker and told me to pay via DoorDash and they will void the initial payment on my credit card with them. I did. Then they told me that they need their manager in order to void the credit card transaction but said manager was not around. They gave me my sandwich and assured me that they will have her void it right away and I'll see it gone within a few days. Believing them I left. 2 weeks past I see the transaction posted on my credit. I called them, they gave me a round about and told me they would contact the manager. I gave them my number to call me back and let me know. 3 weeks, no call back. Transaction still on my credit card. At this point, I've resorted to calling my credit card to dispute and file a claim. Still pending. This type of dishonesty is alarming. I would not go here ever again."

"I'm not going to lie, I'm always wary of places that offer a blend of different cuisines and in this case, "Thai, Vietnamese, and Japanese". However, I was sorely mistaken when I took my first bite of the lemongrass chicken banh mi. The banh mi was made fresh to order (so expect a bit of a wait) and generously PACKED with pickled carrot + daikon, juicy pieces of chicken thigh, red cabbage (I know this isn't traditional but added a nice crunch), and cilantro. Bread had a crunchy exterior and super soft on the inside. However, you gotta be quick as it'll go soggy from the veggies!! Banh mi is on the pricier side compared to other joints but is more than worth it given the quality + location. Can't wait to go back and try their other items!!"

"This is such a cute and cozy Vietnamese restaurant, but guess what? It turns into a speakeasy/Jazz bar after 8 pm. The restaurant has really cool vibes. We went for lunch and got the vegetarian Ban Mi, which was large enough for two people. I’m looking forward to coming back for the jazz/speakeasy experience one of these days."
