"Their Pho and spring rolls were fantastic, and I’d come back just for these. Some of their other more ‘authentic’ dishes are definitely more of an acquired taste, personally didn’t love them. Service after being sat was great, but service while waiting for a table is a hot mess - they have no system and seemingly just sit people down in whatever order they feel like, be prepared to stand up for yourself and fight for a table."

"Food 3.25/5 Service 4/5 Ambiance 3.5/5 Value 3/5 Mam truly delivers on homey, authentic Vietnamese vibes, especially with the traditional seating setup. Their menu is highly unique and adventurous, you won't find these traditional dishes at many other Vietnamese spots, which is a big win for authenticity Didn't appreciate the portion & value. While the food is conceptually interesting, the portion sizes are notably small. For example, the Pho portion is roughly half the standard size found elsewhere, yet the price is approximately 40% higher (even accounting for the no-tipping policy) Dishes We Tried: Đậu Tấm Hành (Fried Tofu) (4/5): My personal favorite and the least "fried" dish. The combination of scallions and sauce worked perfectly with the great tofu texture Stuffed Snails (3.5/5): Unique presentation, but the flavor leaned heavily toward the pork filling rather than the snail Pho Bo (3.5/5): Loved the noodles and the beef quality was decent, but the bowl size was alarmingly small Chả Nhái Fried Frog & Pork Pancake (3.5/5): Good fried texture, though the overall flavor was just okay and didn’t love that it contained bones even though it was called out in the menu Tom Chien (Fried Prawns) (3/5): A unique dish for sure. My friends loved the chip-like crispiness, but I struggled with eating the whole shrimp. (Caution: Chew slowly; the shells can be poky!) Bun Dau Dac Biet (3/5): An adventurous but traditional dish with pork belly, intestines, and blood sausage. A fun DIY experience, but not my personal favorite flavor profile. This was also my friends fave cuz she likes the traditional stuff!"

"If you’re craving bold Vietnamese flavors in NYC, this mắm spot is a must-try! 😋 The fried chicken is crispy outside and juicy inside—super flavorful and not greasy at all 🍗✨. The snails are fresh and seasoned just right, perfect for anyone who loves seafood 🐚🔥. My favorite has to be the bún đậu mắm tôm — authentic, funky in the best way, and served with all the classic sides 🧄🧀🪷. And don’t skip the tamarind sauce — it’s sour, sweet, and addicting 😍🍋. Everything together tastes like home but with NYC vibes 💛🌆. Highly recommend bringing friends so you can order a bunch of dishes and share! 🙌🥢"

"The food is just as impressive as the decor. It's a fantastic place to explore traditional Vietnamese dishes you might not find elsewhere. I was particularly impressed with their mastery of flavors; every bite is a delightful surprise. The dishes are based on a combination of sour and spicy notes, but it's not a simple, one-dimensional heat. Instead, you taste a complex blend of flavors, from the soft acidity of tamarind to the fresh kick of chili. These are perfectly balanced with the rich aromas of a medley of spices like lemongrass, galangal, and basil. This approach gives each dish a deep, authentic Southeast Asian character, creating a truly memorable culinary experience. This restaurant is truly a hidden gem! The moment you walk in, the charming and unique atmosphere sets it apart from typical Vietnamese eateries. It's clear the owner has a strong vision, creating a cozy and special space."

"Very extremely authentic Vietnamese street food! (Verified with two vietnamese friends I went with :) ) The food was great overall! The snail turned out to be unexpectedly gooood! The garlic fried chicken was a little sweet and the prawn was adequately crispy. The main dish had some strong smell of pork. I was fine with it but I felt some people might not like it. The only downside for me was that the seats are extremely uncomfortable! My legs started to hurt while eating :("
