"Los Tacos No. 1 (Hudson Yards) — A Street-Style Fiesta Wrapped in a Corn Tortilla In a dining landscape often defined by curated interiors and Instagram-ready plating, Los Tacos No. 1’s Hudson Yards location trades aesthetic polish for something far more elemental: the pure joy of well-made tacos. Nestled just off the bustle of 10th Avenue at 34th and 10th, this pared-down taqueria whisks you straight to the streets of Mexico — no passport required. Here, every taco is made to order, a ritual that starts with hand-pressed tortillas kissed on the grill and ends with vibrant fillings piled high. And while the adobada and carne asada are beloved by regulars, it’s the cactus (nopal) taco that quietly steals the show. Grilled to tender perfection with just enough char to coax out its vegetal sweetness, this green gem holds its own alongside its meaty counterparts — a surprising triumph for vegetarians and omnivores alike. The service is swift without feeling rushed: friendly taqueros call out orders with practiced ease, and the line — which can snake out the door at peak hours — moves with gratifying speed. The format is quintessential NYC: order, grab a ticket, watch the magic happen, then perch at one of the standing counters (or step outside) to savor every last bite. What the space lacks in seating it makes up for in authenticity. There’s no pretense here, just corn tortillas that sing, toppings that elevate without overwhelming, and a palpable sense that you’re tasting something genuinely well crafted. It may feel like casual street food, but these are tacos done right — honest, bright, and undeniably delicious. Verdict: A must-visit for anyone seeking real Mexico-meets-Manhattan flair with a cactus taco that surprises and delights."

"Seen it on TikTok, had a great experience. I got the Carne Asada tacos, guacamole & chips, and tamarindo. My food was delish. I even went back the next day and got more tacos. This time I got adobada and carne asada, I liked the carne asada more than the adobada. And the tamarindo is so good. It tastes like they made it in house. This location is busy, but so worth it."

"I visited the Times Square location, and it was absolutely worth it. The line is long—as expected—but the turnover is fast, so you don’t wait nearly as long as it looks. The food is incredible. Fresh ingredients, great balance of flavors, and that authentic Mexican taste you can only get from tacos made right in front of you. It’s simple food, but the quality really stands out. Even with the wait, it’s definitely worth it. If you’re in Times Square and craving great tacos, this spot is a must."

"Heard a lot about this place serving up very good Mexican food right in the heart of Manhattan, and it was pretty good! They seemed to be known for the adobada, and I got it in a quesadilla. It's not in the normal folded up quesadilla form, but instead like a larger taco with melted cheese. The tortilla was the best part here. I normally don't like corn tortillas, as I find them a little too stretchy / kind of chewy, but this corn tortilla was amazing. It was so soft, so easy to pull apart, and significantly better than anything you'd find at the grocery store. They make all their tortillas fresh in-house, and its very apparent I also liked the pork. It was cut off a trompo, and the marination lent a ton of flavor to the meat. I do think it could be *slightly* more juicy, but still solid. The cheese was good, but it was way too concentrated in the middle. this led to the majority of bites not having much cheese. loved the onions and salsa though At just over $7, this is definitely on the more expensive side for what's not a lot of food, but in the context of the Manhattan environment, it makes sense Overall, it's pretty good food, but I don't think there's anything truly special about this place. 8/10"

"Los Tacos No. 1 is hands down one of the best taco spots in New York. The food is consistently exceptional — fresh, vibrant, and full of authentic flavor. The tortillas taste homemade, the meats are perfectly seasoned and cooked, and every taco has that perfect balance of texture and spice. You can tell they care about doing things the right way. The service is fast and efficient, even when the line is long (which it usually is — and for good reason). The staff keep things moving without ever compromising quality. The atmosphere is fun, energetic, and exactly what you want from a place serving top-tier street-style tacos. Whether it’s the adobada, carne asada, or the classics, everything hits. It’s the kind of spot you think about long after you’ve finished eating. An absolute must-visit and easily a 10/10 taco experience."
