"My wife was craving vongole pasta, so we decided to go out for Italian and chose this place based on the reviews—and it did not disappoint. We started with Cozze al Vino Bianco, and it was absolutely amazing. The mussels were fresh and perfectly cooked, and the white wine sauce was so good we ended up dipping our bread into it after finishing. The bread itself was warm, fresh, and paired perfectly with olive oil and balsamic. After that, we were really excited for the vongole pasta. The sauce was a little different from what we expected, but when we mentioned it, the manager kindly let us know that we can request the same sauce as the mussels next time, which we really appreciated. I also loved the small details—how they decorate the plates with fresh basil leaves. Such a cute and thoughtful touch that really elevates the presentation. The interior was beautiful and cozy, with a perfect special-occasion and date-night vibe. Combined with the incredibly friendly and kind servers, the whole experience felt warm and memorable. Great food, great service, and a lovely atmosphere—definitely a 5-star experience. We’ll be back for sure! 🇮🇹✨"

"I totally recommend this place! I went with my daughter for a lunch date, amazing service. Everyone is accommodating and welcoming, the food is great. The pricing is reasonable for the services and food you get. It's a very calm place with nice areas in the restaurant to take pictures. I totally recommend, HIGHLY SATISFIED."

"We loved coming here! The atmosphere is beautiful, warm, and welcoming. The staff are knowledgeable and friendly and the owner is an amazing host and a very nice man. Most importantly, the food was so delicious. I loved the octopus salad and that was my favorite part of the meal and I highly recommend it. I got the tomato basil pasta and it was simple, delicious, and fresh. The prices were good here too. Highly recommend if you’re in the area! :)"

"An Absolute Gem in North Bergen! Wow—what a phenomenal experience! From start to finish, Gallo Nero Ristorante Italiano blew us away. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and everything we tried was bursting with flavor and authenticity. We started with the grilled octopus, and I’m still dreaming about it. Perfectly tender—like butter—and seasoned so beautifully it didn’t need anything else. The fresh bread served beforehand was also incredible: warm, crusty, and a perfect match for the meal. I ordered the fettuccine bolognese, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The pasta was clearly homemade, fresh, and cooked to perfection. The meat sauce? Rich, savory, and expertly seasoned—easily one of the best I’ve had. My wife had the fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp, and she couldn’t stop raving about it. Creamy, flavorful, and packed with juicy shrimp. Even our daughter had a blast with her meal! She got the chicken cutlet with fries, and let me tell you—it was so good we had to restrain ourselves from stealing bites off her plate. Crispy, tender, and just perfectly done. We were too full for dessert right there, but we grabbed some tiramisu to go—and based on how everything else tasted, I already know it’s going to be amazing. A special shout-out to Carlos, our server. He was friendly, incredibly informative, and gave us the best recommendations that elevated our experience even further. If you’re even thinking about visiting this place—do it. This is one of those rare spots that delivers across the board: food, service, atmosphere, and overall vibe. Gallo Nero is truly a local gem.
