"I had a horrible experience with the fish that I bought. The 1.5-pound sea bass smelled of ammonia. When I took the items back, I requested a refund. The store owner was very rude. After much haggling, he partially refunded the amount for the sea bass and made it clear that it was an exception, “as I usually give credit when there are complaints.” I would avoid buying anything there."

"This is my go-to local fish market. Always fresh, prices are fair, and the sushi is a fantastic deal. The popular fish like salmon and tuna are just a little more expensive than the supermarket and leaps and bounds above in quality. But their cheaper options like the mackerel and whiting have never done me wrong."

"Do not eat the oysters! Our group of 5 bought 30 oysters($1.20 ea). 5 oysters had visibly gone bad upon opening and thrown out. We each ate 1-2 raw (immediately upon opening shell), and cooked the rest. 2/5 of the group have gotten food poisoning."

"Clean, fresh, and the kindest people. They also have a number of Korean frozen/pantry products available."

"Carroll Gardens’ fish monger is such a delight to frequent, they provide a wide variety of fresh, high quality seafood and a very clean atmosphere. The swordfish steaks were cut to the perfect thickness for the picatta swordfish dish I seared and paired with a North Coast Sauvignon Blanc called Uppercut as recommended by the wine sommelier at Scotty’s Wine Cellar just down Court St."
