"Service and atmosphere are amazing. That being said, there's some point that I like to headlight. We tried all the appetizers (they're all very good) picadinho and feijoada. The feijoada could serve 2, but the amount of rice (and sides in general) are too small and wasn't offered a refill. Picadinho could be more well served as well as the moqueca. Pudim was the showstopper, just too good. Drinks are overpriced even for nyc, but they are good. Overall it was a good experience but wouldn't come back again."

"Had a wonderful experience here from the time I walked in until the time I exited, very friendly and welcoming hostess. Great experience with the bartenders, also friendly and willing to speak Portguese with me (I’m not fluent but I enjoy practicing). The atmosphere is incredible, I almost felt out of place being casually dressed for such a beautiful ambiance. The bar seating was comfortable, modern and well kept. Bathroom facilities also very nice. Just a few blocks from the path/34th st F, M, D, B and Q, N, R subway stop Herald Square so it’s convenient. The caipirinha was the highlight of my experience. Leblon is the brand of the cachaça that they use and this is considered an expensive/mid-top shelf brand in Brazil. It was prepared stiff, stout and flavorful- exactly how it should be. I asked for less sugar and really enjoyed how the batente made it. I had the original lime flavor, I wasn’t too sure about trying the other options which were cashew or guava- not the most popular flavors in Brazil when ordering this drink so I’m not sure why it’s on the menu. Would’ve been great to see pitaya or morango 🍓, even abacaxi (maybe they have those flavors to order outside of the social hour, I’m not sure). I came for the happy hour, I love that they rebranded it as social hour. I ordered the fish croquettes and the beef pastries (called pastel in Brazil). Honestly, the food reminded me of the food I’d have in rio (lived there for a year and visit yearly since 2021)- tasteless, so for that it is authentic. Normally Brazilian restaurants in NYC will adjust the taste to fit more of an American pallet, but this was not the case. The pastel was totally fine, had beef inside, the ratio was okay and I thought they did a great job at ensuring every inch of the pastel was evenly coated. The fish croquettes also known as bacalhau, tasted exactly how you’d expect it to taste in Brazil which isn’t in my opinion tasty. I guess I can’t complain that the food is authentic but I have to give my honest review and of course, I’m still giving a great score because I had a great experience. The croquettes I could rationalize paying 12 during social hour, but definitely not the beef pastel considering the size and quantity/quality of beef. 10 per caipirinha isn’t bad, especially considering they use Leblon instead of a cheaper brand like Pitu (or worse) and it’s nice that you can get a flavor without an up charge. Overall, I recommend and look forward to returning to try other dishes on the menu. Authentic with beautiful aesthetics in a convenient location within NYC and decent prices."

"I went back to Berimbau after having an experience last year that didn’t impress me much, but this time I was genuinely surprised in the best way. We started with the ceviche, which was super fresh and very well seasoned. For my main dish, I ordered the bobó de siri, and as someone from the North of Brazil, that creamy texture immediately reminded me of our traditional vatapá. Perfect texture, authentic flavor, and beautifully executed. My friend ordered the moqueca, and as a true Baiana, she was the first to say it was delicious perfectly balanced and full of flavor. For drinks, I had the Jangada, which brings that amazing jambu sensation, total nostalgia for me. My friend got the Saudade, and the foam on top was incredible (she mentioned it like three times 😂). The biggest surprise of the night was the coffee flan. Rich flavor, perfect texture, and the chef’s explanation really tied the whole experience together. It even reminded me of a tequila shot with chocolate I once had at Auchaval, unexpected, but amazing. I noticed many tables ordering the meats, which looked great, but I’ll save that for next time. Honestly, when you visit a restaurant like this, it’s worth leaving room to try the chef’s creations, it’s a complete experience on its own. I’m from the North and extremely picky about farofa, but theirs was super crunchy and really good. The only thing I’d love to see come back the way it used to be is the coxinha on the griddle, which I loved, also last year I had this chocolate cake with ice cream that was excellent. Overall, my visit was a 10/10. I’m really happy I gave it another chance the authenticity, the attention to detail, and the comforting flavors made everything worth it. It’s one of the few Brazilian restaurants in NYC (outside of rodízios) that truly delivers the essence of Brazilian cuisine."

"I recently had the pleasure of dining at Berimbau in New York, and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The ambiance was warm and inviting, but the real star was the food. I started with a caipirinha drink made from cashew fruit, or cajú, and wow—what a revelation! It was refreshingly tropical with a subtle sweetness that felt both exotic and comforting. Definitely a must-try if you’re looking for something unique. For my main course, I ordered the picadinho, and it was absolutely delicious. The portion was generous and packed with protein, featuring tender filet mignon bathed in a rich, savory dark sauce. The addition of a perfectly poached egg elevated the dish, adding creaminess and depth to every bite. It was hearty, flavorful, and beautifully balanced. The farrofa added the Brazilian touch and the mushrooms were perfectly cooked. Berimbau is a fantastic spot for anyone craving authentic Brazilian cuisine with a gourmet twist. Today was a Saturday and there was a female singer, and a guitar player for most of the afternoon for our entertainment delight. I’ll definitely be returning to explore more of their menu! Shoutout to Mylla for the great drink and the hospitality."

"From service to the meal experience, everything is inviting, pleasant and delicious. I love how they have the executive meal which is a combination of appetizer with main entrees. Amazing options and the strogonoff and feijoada tasted amazing. We also had the “batida perfeita” drink which IS perfectly yummy as well as the lemon flan. To top it off the music is very pleasant and the bathroom is clean. Berimbau is definitely a favorite now. We had an amazing time."
