"I'm so glad to have learned about Interfaith 21; I had a very nice stay, and the whole place has a neat vibe.. My room was immaculately neat, and outfitted not only with an adjustable desk but also a cozy rocking chair and potted plants; the bed was really comfortable (such soft sheets!); and everything needed for a basic overnight -- or a longer stay - - was to hand. Very cool that there's a garden area, as well! Alex, the manager, was very helpful, and the various people at the desk were unfailingly courteous and nice. The communal snack area was super-clean and very well stocked, and the morning scones and coffee were excellent. Altogether a great resource for those seeking that very rare thing, a reasonable and really pleasant place to stay in the heart of New York - - and one that supports truly worthwhile work on behalf of those in need. Kudos to the founders of this non-profit B&B!"

"Absolutely loved my stay here! -detailed comment due to place being relatively new- Location is great, lively part of the hyped Chelsea and next to Soho with heaps of food/bar options. Less than 5 min flat walk to 2 different subway stations, walkable to famous avenues, Target (3 min walk), many quick food options open late around. I always came after midnight as a solo female traveler and felt super safe. From the moment I arrived, I felt welcomed especially thanks to Das, who went above and beyond. I met three team members during my stay, and each one was incredibly kind and great to chat with. When I possibly needed an extra night due to flight cancellations, Das did his best to help me find a solution in a fully booked city during the holiday rush which I didn’t needed later on. I booked last minute for 2–3 nights over Halloween while waiting for friends to return to NY from work trips. After a long 12-hour international flight and 5 hours in airport, I arrived late, exhausted and was greeted with warmth by Das, who even helped carry my luggage upstairs due to my knee injury. The room (Surabhi) was the last available one, it was on 4th floor, I booked through their website, it was perfect for a solo traveler and spacious enough for two. The queen bed was comfortable, the space was clean and warm, and the 24/7 kitchen stocked with complimentary food and drinks saved my late arrival. Huge thanks to all the warm souls I met from the team and their time and chats.. I’d absolutely stay again and look forward to learning more about their lifestyle and cause behind the space. Couldn’t be more thankful to the team. + Heating note for the previous comments to explain winter situation and kindly remind the future guests; There's both an AC unit (works great) and an old-style radiator for heating. Some say it’s noisy and extra warm, I found it fine and slept well but always have earplugs on during my travels and I prefer warm indoor conditions during winter. (Outside was 1 to 7 C degrees at nights during my stay) Since the building has a central heating system, if other floors request it to be fully turned off, the top floor may feel cooler, especially with older windows and an open roof door for ventilation. That happened my first night but was quickly fixed the next morning. I agree that kitchen and first floors were warm enough all the time. But If you are extra warm in your room, just let the team know, they’re super responsive and each room actually can be adjusted by you with AC, opening your windows or your door, on top of this, team can turn on/off your heating individually if it’s a must (mechanical touch and a lot less practical) and they’ll help find the right solution just for you. So as a guest please don’t keep asking to turn it off fully and force other guests/rooms to agree with this idea (- a guest couple forced us to accept this on my arrival night at the kitchen which was very uncomfortable for me to deal with their strong and condescending opinions, them questioning where are we from to need heating during sleep, lecturing an energy engineer about energy savings etc, so I just said fine by me to not be a part of that weird convo at all, without knowing how warm/cold is the room will be soon) The top floor is not same as the 1st or 2nd floors by heating reservation (which are a warm sandwich between other rooms), rooftop door and bathroom windows are usually open for ventilation so it gets chilly and also we need showers or the rest of the building to be warm and available for everyone. I wasn’t able to shower early morning and start my day since my room, top corridors and showers were cold due to ventilation also had a sore throat when I woke up. So please be kind to others and when you have 3 different easy options to cool your room down, do it so, it was unnecessary to effect others whom had no options) I was supplied a great heavy warm blanket just in case before bed which did the job for the sleeping part thanks to forward thinking of the team and offering it without me even asked 😊"

"Interfaith 21 is relatively new, which now I understand is the reason you may not see a ton of reviews yet. I wanted to leave my own to give proper kudos to this spot, as I really enjoyed a recent stay here. Admittedly I was a bit hesitant to book— I’m a Catholic school survivor (lol) and the name Interfaith maybe incorrectly conjured up “Jesus-y” in my mind. To set the record straight, there is certainly a yogic, spiritual, community-driven slant to the place — and it is so welcoming. Everyone I interfaced with was so pleasant and kind, and the only reason we got into yogi-related chit-chat was because I checked in with a yoga mat. I had a great conversation with Gokul at the front desk about certain yogic ideals that was one of the highlights of my stay. Onto the facilities: my room was clean and extremely cozy, and the mattress and sheets were so comfy. Clean towels included as well. The shared bathroom was SPOTLESS. I have definitely done my time through my 20s staying at less cleanly hostels and cheap hotels…. I am a little past that point in my life now (smiles) and Interfaith’s bathroom situation was truly so good. It’s clear that their cleaning standards are very high. The free bagels, scones, coffee, tea, and cereal meant not spending $20 right off the bat just to feed and caffeinate myself in the morning, and the kitchen was very clean too! There’s a shared fridge to store leftovers and clean drinking water always available in a Brita pitcher. The coffee was really nice in the morning too. The neighborhood is great— walking distance to the West Village, Chelsea, and close to transit for going elsewhere. Lots of food and coffee options nearby. There’s also a Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods within walking distance if you like to keep costs down a bit on your travels. I also felt very safe and secure by myself as a solo lady traveler, for whoever needs to read that. I’ve been looking for reasonable accommodations in NYC, and after striking out a few times at some other places, I am so happy I found this treasure. I can’t wait to stay again, and hope you’ll consider a stay too. Thanks again guys. Best of luck on your new business venture. You have a great thing here."

"I stayed here one night of a work trip, and I'll be back. The location was the biggest draw - loved being in the heart of Chelsea, and this place made it feel more like I was living in the city as opposed to being a guest. The people that run the place are incredibly nice. It felt very safe, was very clean, comfortable, and quiet. Yes, the toilet room and shower room are shared and small, but this wasn't an issue for me at all. It's lovely and affordable!"

"Was in New York for a night and this place had all I needed for my brief stay. The room and bathrooms were clean, I could make myself a tea and toast any time of the day, everyone was absolutely pleasant and hospitable, and the location is just a short walk from the subway station. Do consider the possible stairs if you end up getting a higher floor, they were not too much of a hassle but could be difficult for some people, but other than that do check it out if you want a quieter and cozier stay in the city"
