"I've loved going to the Film Forum for the last 25 years. They always have great independent films and classics to see again in the theater. For some reason, I'm always going there when it's pouring rain, so many of my movie-going experiences here at the Film Forum are seen through wet glasses. Fortunately, on my most recent visit, I had remembered to bring one of those glasses wipes that doesn't scratch your lenses. I was early for 2025's "Peter Hujar's Day" so I knew I'd be able to clean my glasses before the coming attractions started. The girl at the ticket window seemed distant. She didn't look at me one time. Not a crime, of course, but she gave off the vibe of "I have somewhere else to be." As I fumbled for my wallet, shaking my wet coat off, she asked me if I was a member. "No," I replied and pulled out my credit card. It cost $17 bucks. I asked her, "Where is your bathroom?" and she pointed toward the back. The bathroom experience is top notch at the Film Forum. Plenty of urinals and the paper towels were stocked. Even someone with wet jeans found himself comfortable in that Film Forum bathroom. When I got to my seat, I took off my coat and hat and laid them on the seats in front of me. I had a feeling there weren't going to be a lot of people going to see "Peter Hujar's Day" in the middle of a Tuesday afternoon. Of course, I was right. I believe it was just me and three or four other folks who came in for that showing. As I grabbed for the glasses wipe in my pocket, I realized that everything in my pockets were drenched. This included the glasses wipe. I rubbed my lenses with the wet wipe, but to no avail. I realized this was going to have to be a situation where I left my glasses on to dry in the Film Forum air. I didn't purchase any treats, but I can report that the popcorn smelled good and inviting. I'd recommend going to Film Forum anytime as long as there's no sort of Q&A with a director and audience. Those, as we all know, can get out of hand with people raising their hands merely to hear themselves talk. The Film Forum: Snooty, but High Quality."

"What a delight! OMG I had the best time yesterday in NYC and the Film Forum was a terrific part of a special day. As others have noted, the snack bar and popcorn are really good -- I had a piece of cranberry walnut cake that was just divine -- moist, nutritious, filling. The popcorn was light and healthy. You might be thinking: this gal ate too much at the movies. Well, since I walked briskly from Grand Central to the Film Forum, I needed to eat! The movie was unusual and very interesting. The seats were comfortable. All the people working there were friendly. The bathrooms were super clean. This place is a treasure, and if I lived nearby I would be going several times a week. So thankful for the Film Forum."

"This is a wonderful not for profit cinema where you are going to see great films as well as documentaries that would never be seen at your neighborhood movie theaters. The seats are very comfortable and there’s an excellent snack bar with vegan as well as other treats. Their popcorn is made with real peanut oil and the popcorn is delicious!"

"Went to see The Third Man here while visiting New York. Great presentation and could feel it was an audience who appreciate film. Really impressed with Film Forum, their love for film and how they operate (did a little digging). The staff were super friendly too. Will definitely come back when I’m in NYC next."
