"One of my favorite cinemas in the city. It becomes a must anytime they show a current release on a 70mm screen in the old original theater. So iconic. A movie experience rarely gets better than this"

"Went here on Christmas Eve to see the Talking Head’s Stop Making Sense about a year or two ago. Staff was super friendly and had an upbeat attitude despite it being so late in the night. The film was fantastic, the sound and screen worked fabulously. And it was overall a very fun and memorable experience, I definitely would bring a date here! 🍿✨"

"Tried emailing multiple times but never heard back... I had been to Cinema Village twice before for screenings of friend’s films, but I had never purchased a ticket to a movie. I was disappointed when I entered the theater and there was a glaring exit sign competing with the screen. Then, when the movie started, the top edge was bleeding outside of the screen and there were black bars on the sides – the projector alignment was totally off. I immediately asked if someone could fix it. After several minutes of someone messing around with the curtains while the movie was playing, they gave up. I had to watch the rest of the film with the sides angled in. Luckily, I had my backpack I could place on the seat in front of me to block the exit sign. But, I was very disappointed."

"Small theater with a lot of charm, reminds me of a European cinema. It has only two rooms but they are well maintained and clean. Chairs are fairly comfortable. We purchased our tickets online and it didn't allow us to pick a seat, however we didn't have any issues in terms of seating. The movie audio was great, but don't expect Dolby Surround. Most movies are from independent producers, which I actually like, the audience and vibe also seemed quite intellectual given the types of movies screened here. The staff was kind. We will come back."

"Cinema Village in s a small movie theater that has been open for decades. Located on East 12th Street, it is a beloved movie hall showing art and foreign films. Ticket prices are $8 which in these times is a steal. The seats are quite comfortable and the screen large. Restrooms are downstairs. Patrick, Jack and another unnamed lady were manning the ticket counter and refreshments. Popcorn is priced at $4, $6 and $8. $4 for a small which was also incredible. I bought one and took half home. I had come to see “A Complete Unknown” which was enjoyable."
