"The most delicious desserts and mochi!!! Absolutely cuteness overload and fantastic drinks as well. Great place to buy a gift for someone who likes mochi and japanese things."

"Cha-An did change a lot since our previous visit, sadly. The dishes were drastically overpriced, as tiramisu shrunk to 1/3 of the original size (last photo was the tiramisu cake from our last time visit). Tea and drinks were unsatisfied, tasting no difference than alkane water. Will for sure not come back again."

"Love the atmosphere and vibes. It’s perfect for an afternoon tea with friends. The match tiramisu was awesome, lots of match powder on top and it tasted like there was a layer of sake soaked into the cake on the bottom, and wasn’t too sweet. There were many options for tea pots which came with a free refill of hot water. I’m giving this a 4 star as the rose tea I got didn’t have much flavors of rose, and everything was slightly pricey."

"It’s my second time at this place and I think the atmosphere about Cha An is really cute. It did remind me a lot of the dessert places in Japan. I thought the desserts were quite good and rather tasty. The only thing I would say is that the desserts are fairly pricey and that is the only thing that is preventing me from giving it a 5. It’s pricey but the amount you get is not all that much. The flavour was there though and I would say the matcha in the tiramisu was quite prominent."

"My son takes me to this Japanese Tea House at times when I visit him, especially when it is a special day like my birthday or Mother's Day. The first three photos (with the parfait) were during a Mother's Day weekend, with a Sakura theme. That is the Sakura Parfait of Cha An Teahouse. The rest of the photos were from the reserved upper room where they were serving a four course Strawberry Afternoon Tea. When you see the teahouse (there is a photo of the door), you have to walk up steps to get to the main area where you are seated and you can order tea with sweet or savory snacks (like mochi or dango or even a variation of anmitsu where instead of jelly they use mochi. It's called Mochi Mochi). They also have good alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks (my son orders the alcoholic one while I order the non-alcoholic kind). For the upper floor, however, you can go there only with a reservation. I encourage anyone going to Cha An Teahouse to make a reservation at least once for the four course afternoon tea. It's a very special experience that even the lady serving us was so pleased at the way my eyes lit up every time a new course was served. My son loved seeing how pleased I was with the experience as well, so I encourage anyone visiting New York City to go to Cha An Teahouse and even just once, make a reservation for afternoon tea (Note: You have to make it early, since they tend to get fully booked)."
