"The way the theater is designed was perfect for the movie that I went to see kokuho but it’s not someplace I would casually or regularly go to for every film. The theaters are located downstairs and you can hear the rumbling of the train. The seating is all flat, which means you have to fight with people‘s heads to see the screen. The fact that descension onto the second floor is quite steep and there escalators weren’t working is crazy. The café and lounge area is the thing that really is an attraction for the theater"

"Really surprised by the mostly positive reviews. Despite pricy tickets, the theatre room (we got nb2) is not fit for the setup. There is no slope and it’s very, very deep so half of the room has a crappy view. To add to this, they screen independent movies (often quiet/not loud) in a venue literally by a metro railway so it completely ruins the experience. I will not return."

"Here's my poem about the Angelika Film Center in NYC: In the heart of Manhattan's vibrant streets, Where culture and art forever meet, A cinematic gem stood tall and bright, The Angelika Film Center, a beacon in sight. I grew up in this city's endless thrall, With the Angelika as my cinematic hall, A place where dreams were spun, and stories told, Where the magic of movies forever unfold. Its iconic facade, a familiar sight, A symbol of the city's cinematic delight, The Angelika's marquee, a showcase of the best, A promise of wonders, that would forever rest. Inside its walls, a world of wonder waited, A realm of imagination, where hearts were created, The screens came alive, with stories so grand, A kaleidoscope of emotions, at the audience's command. From indie darlings to foreign film delights, The Angelika showcased cinema's diverse lights, A haven for cinephiles, and film enthusiasts too, A place where the love of cinema, forever shone true. I remember nights, when the city's lights were low, And the Angelika's screens, would glow like a radiant glow, The sound of laughter, and the rustle of seats, As the audience surrendered, to the cinematic treats. The Angelika's legacy, forever in my heart, A symbol of the city's cinematic art, A place where dreams were born, and memories created, The Angelika Film Center, forever celebrated. As I grew older, and the city's landscape changed, The Angelika remained, a constant, unaltered range, A testament to the power, of cinema's enduring spell, A place where the magic of movies, forever dwelled. So here's to the Angelika, a cinematic treasure rare, A place where the love of film, forever fills the air, May its screens forever glow,"

"The legendary independent film center at the corner of Mercer and Houston Streets. I loved the makeover of Angelika for The Phoenician Scheme with Marseille Bob's clearly modeled on Rick's Café in Casablanca. The movie itself was the perfect movie for Father's Day."

"Great theater. Staff is very nice and helpful. Always clean when I go and the events are well run. No Apple Pay inside. Great place for movies!"
