"Little salon on the 2nd floor, recommend a reservation. Stylists don't work every day, so if you have a favorite, then check on their schedule. Some will take credit cards, too."

"So disappointed, booked Hiromi for a pixie but it had no feminine touches to it and was just badly done. I hated it. I wouldn't have minded so much but she barely washed my hair, no head massage while washing, one rinse and it was done. Having my hair washed is my favorite part of going to a salon. Couldn't even get that. (Saki was terrific, but she has left to open her own business, so I won't be going back)."

"I visited the stylist (Kazunori) at their West Village location for a simple bang cut. I showed him a reference picture (as seen in the first picture) and even mentioned that my hair is curved, so it might need to be straightened before cutting. He dismissed my concern, assured me it was fine, and finished the cut in just 5 minutes. At first, I felt the shape looked odd, but he insisted it was correct. The next morning, I woke up and realized that the middle section was noticeably longer than the sides, no matter how I styled it. Frustrated, I called the salon to ask if they could fix it—it would have taken less than 5 minutes. However, they told me the stylist wasn’t working that day. Since I hated how my bangs looked, I asked if any other stylist could fix them. They said I’d have to wait. Left with no choice, I ended up fixing my bangs myself. Unsatisfied with this experience, I booked another appointment at the Union Square location because I trusted a stylist I had worked with before. However, the manager at this location called me and canceled my appointment because I left a bad review for their West Village location. This level of unprofessionalism is shocking. Rather than addressing the issues raised in my review, they chose to retaliate against me as a customer. Not only was their service unacceptable, but their attitude has been even worse. I absolutely do not recommend this salon if they can’t handle basic customer service or a simple bang cut. Unbelievable!"

"SHAIR is one of my go-to places to get a haircut in the city, and I’m especially fond of Haruka! I’ve brought friends (and of course myself) to get haircuts from her, and she always does an exceptional, meticulous job. Overall, the Union Square location has a great vibe and everyone there is super friendly. Highly recommended!"

"Naoe at Shair is The Best for kid’s cuts. I first came to Naoe when my daughter was almost 5 and today my daughter is 6.5. My daughter has always had so much hair so it’s important that someone skilled cuts her hair. Naoe gives fantastic cuts and is also gentle and fun. We love her!"
