"I stayed 2 nights on short notice. This place was perfect for my needs. It was modest and affordable. They offer coffee and some sliced bread, bagels, pastries and fruit. Seeing the morning spread was very welcome in my time of need. Thank you so much. I'd like to acknowledge Krishna D. for being especially helpful."

"Here is a critical tip. When you call to let them know when you’re coming. Ask them politely if you can avoid getting rooms 15 or 17. I was in 15 and it’s right next to the front desk. It’s noisier than other rooms as a result. I would also suggest that you try to avoid being assigned to room one, two, three or four. Those are directly across from the bathroom and you’ll have a little bit of noise and potentially odor in those locations. I think all the other room to be more or less equally desirable. Hit like appropriate. For as inexpensive as it was, I’m impressed how well this all worked out. The only two disadvantages are the bed is short if you’re more than 6 feet tall. You’ll need to sleep on a diagonal and even then it’ll feel pretty tight. You’ve got a wall on the foot and the head of the bed so it’s not like you could have your feet hanging off the end of the bed like you normally might. The mattress itself is pretty comfortable. You only get one pillow. The bathrooms are very clean and have lots of hot water. The temperature through the place is perfect. The Wi-Fi is pretty fast. The other problem- if you are a super light sleeper, the units do not have ceilings to them. So you can hear quite a lot of other noise across the other rooms. They do provide earplugs and they do work pretty well. Everyone is extremely thoughtful and conscientious about trying to be quiet. Overall, I slept pretty well. The breakfast is much better than I would have anticipated. There were muffins, bagels from Whole Foods, good quality peanut butter and jelly and honey, lots of oat and soy milk, banana, berries that were fresh. It was a very good breakfast. The Internet is good. The location is fantastic. It’s just under a quarter mile of Penn Station, which has got great subway connections, and train connections to everywhere. The staff is very kind. It felt really safe. The men and women are in separate floors. Although I haven’t stayed in a hostel in a lot of years, I might actually come back! The price was really attractive for a weekend when New York was busy and very expensive"

"Super super worth it for a night. I just needed a safe place to crash near Penn station, and this was it. Everyone was very kind. The bed was clean. Only complaint is it was very warm at night and I couldn't find a way to turn the lamp off without also turning off the phone charger. Other than that, really great"

"Visited NYC for the first time recently, and stayed in this hostel for 2 days alone. For starters, this place is located a few blocks down from Penn Station and MSG. This makes it accessible to the larger subway system and thus most other areas of the city. I was easily able to travel to and from Jersey City, Brooklyn, and Lower Manhattan without any hassle. There’s also LOTS of good places to eat nearby, mostly delis and pizza places. You’re within walking distance to Times Square, Empire State Building, Central Park, and much more. As for conditions of the hostel, it’s very small, sort of cramped, but the bed is fairly comfortable and safety never felt like a concern here for me. You have to climb a fair bit of stairs to get up to where all the rooms are, and the bathroom especially felt a little too cramped as well. The staff was friendly and fellow guests were always quiet. They have a pretty strict policy here regarding snoring and noise throughout the night. Would I stay here again? Possibly. I really value having my own space to move around and or work on my laptop if needed. The room here is purely for sleeping and not much else. All in all an interesting solo-traveling experience."

"Everything was amazing! All of the people in the lobby were so helpful and responsive. The breakfast and the coffee was so delicious. The room and the bathrooms were clean. Always quiet, except my room was near the kitchen and the sounds woke me up so early but great opportunity so discover the city early in the morning. No noise at all at night. Very central location, I always felt safe. The place is so close to the Subway but also so walkable. All in all, thank you for everything, I will definitely come stay here again!"
