"I chose this school to do my Natural hair styling course and I definitely had a good experience. Mike is such a pleasant person and he makes himself available to you. He gives you reminders and cares about your success. The staff was very nice too and patient. Ms. Tina taught the practical and she taught you exactly what you need to know to pass. I would definitely recommend this school."

"I took Natural hair styling course program and I had an amazing time there.I developed great skills , strengthened my knowledge about natural hair.The instructor Tina was great and dedicated in helping students .The school is well organized. I’m so glad to learn from the best.The owner Mike is the sweetest person I’ve come across very positive his attitude and smile give you confidence!!! I pass both exams at first try and now I own my own shop."

"Be very careful with this school! Especially if you’re trying to get your natural hair care license. Yes, mikes (Sut Lo) school is approved by state board to get you in to take the state board exam but Tina (the natural hair care instructor doesn’t have proper hair care knowledge for you to pass the practical state board exam and mentioned that they don’t teach the written exam.) The students are literally set up to fail. My first day there was my last day there! The tables, combs and mannequin heads they provide you with at the school are DIRTY! Before paying anything just go and see for yourself ! It’s a big RED FLAG! Tina didn’t give us important info that you need in order to pass the state board exam! She just holds up a mannequin head with the braids already in and says “copy exactly what you see and if you can do this then you have passed the practical exam” They just want your money! They forge your 300 hrs to the state and say as long as you have the tuition paid in full, you can take the state board whenever! The practical exam requires a full blown list and STEPS you need in order to pass! You won’t even receive a kit with the supplies like Magic finger does! Oh and they don’t provide any Milady books! You have to get that yourself and Milady doesn’t sell the books to the public anymore!"

"I attended this school for my nail specialty license and I passed both the state board exams on the first try. The studying material for the written exam were helpful and prepared me very well. For class, our instructor Maggie was sweet, kind, and not afraid to give feedback on your work on the fake practice hand. The other instructor explained each portion of what's expected for the practical exam and showed examples of what would pass/fail for nail enhancements that you create. You can take notes on it or visit the state board site too. I am very thankful for my teachers and the school, since everyone is so nice and encouraging. It's also great that you can attend when your schedule allows. Thank you to everyone at Modern Beauty!!"

"I attended their waxing course in 2022. Mike was my instructor and the class was so amazing and informative. Mike was an amazing instructor, very kind and patient! He made sure I had all the techniques & was fully prepared for my state exam ( which I passed on the first take). This program was so great I am thinking about going back to get my esthetician license with them. I also love that they give the option to enroll on a rolling basis which is super flexible and convenient. I really loved it there and I am sure you will too :)"
