"Jaya has yoga classes every day, even holidays, from morning through evening. There’s also Pilates, sound baths, occasional community acupuncture, dance parties and reiki sanghas. Most classes are mixed level, and there are special courses for kids, beginners, etc. That said, from what I’ve experienced, all ages, abilities, genders, bodies etc are actively welcomed in mixed classes. Each teacher has a somewhat different approach, so it’s worth taking classes with a few to see what works best for you. They have a generous intro back so that you can do exactly that, and then a range of options from single classes to multipacks to memberships. Bring your own gear, or use their mats, blankets, blocks, bolsters, etc. This is a caring community where you can go at your own pace and made modifications as necessary; no one is going to bully you into injury. On the other hand, if you’re open to guidance, it’s clear that the instructors really care about helping students continually improve strength, balance, flexibility, alignment, etc. Some classes include spiritual elements of chanting and hand mudras. If you’re looking for any combination of exercise, spiritually, friendship and/or community, I cannot more highly recommend Jaya. I’ve been coming here very regularly for over five years and I still learn new things in every class. Close to the southern entrance of the F/G Fort Hamilton subway station, B16 bus, bike racks, and some parking."

"I have gained a tremendous amount of strength and agility as a result of taking classes at Jaya for about 2 years. Probably more than I ever did as a result of running, swimming, going to the gym, or doing gymnastics, and I've been doing those things for many, many years. I also found an incredibly supportive and warm-hearted community here. The community is actually the best part. And doing the teacher training here was one of the best decisions of my life."

"Jaya Yoga is THE BEST yoga studio I have ever been to. I feel like it's divine providence that I moved into this neighborhood because this community is exactly what I need. Every teacher is wonderful, every student is kind, my body and soul are nourished."

"Jaya yoga center has changed my life! Every instructor is amazing and so well educated on how to guide practitioners through yoga. The best part of Jaya is really the community they have fostered - the space is so open and welcoming to everyone. Jaya is not just great for my physical spirit but also has helped me become more in tune with my emotions and feelings through becoming connected with myself. I am so grateful i decided to start practicing yoga here and I cant wait to continue my journey with them. Special shout out to Carla and John! I first came to Jaya after a major surgery and both teachers helped me adapt my practice within my limits while still helping me grow. They have both been vital in my recovery."

"I have been practicing yoga for over 15 years, and have tried on many many studios. I am so happy to have found my h(om)e at Jaya. Jaya is so much more than just a yoga studio, it's a true Yoga Sangha. It is a place full of dedicated practitioners and even more dedicated teachers and staff. It is a welcoming and truly INCLUSIVE SPACE. Speaking to the studio itself, all of their locations are beautiful and clean. They provide mats, water, tea, snacks, fruit, and all of the staff and teachers are incredibly warm and helpful. Class cards, and monthly memberships are competitively priced, cheaper than surrounding studios, an all of Jaya's teachers are HIGHLY EXPERIENCED. Beginner and seasoned practitioners will feel both safe and adequately challenged in the practice. The class styles range from yin, restorative, basics, vinyasa flow, slow flow/meditative, strength training, pilates, and everything in between. There is something for everyone! I like to describe Carla's class as a mix between a yoga class and a comedy show. I have found a beautiful, deep sense of community at Jaya, and I hope you will too!"
