"I’ve been going to Empire Beauty School in Astoria for years, and I can honestly say I’ve never had a bad experience. The staff and students are always professional, accommodating, and incredibly welcoming. On my most recent visit, I had the pleasure of being taken care of by Yeison Lunor, and he was truly outstanding. Warm, very professional, and super talented, he also turned out to be a wonderful conversationalist. He asked thoughtful questions about my life and genuinely seemed interested in who I was as a person, which made the whole experience feel even more personal and enjoyable. I tend to be indecisive, so this time I let him take the lead. I told him I trusted his judgment—and he absolutely earned that trust. Yeison took his time, paying close attention to every detail to make sure I ended up with a cut and style that would make me happy. From deciding on a style to the wash and blow-dry, Yeison made this baby boomer feel completely pampered. I walked in feeling a bit frumpy and left feeling refreshed and a touch glamorous. His warm, fun, and very knowledgeable supervisor, Mr. Morales, told me I was in good hands, and he would occasionally stop by to advise Yeison, often complimenting his exceptional work as my hair style was coming together, which made me feel even more confident in the result. I appreciated seeing the collaborative, supportive relationship between students and supervisors, and even when Yeison was briefly called away to help other students or clients, I never felt rushed or overlooked. I truly hope this creative and talented young man fulfills his dream of opening his own salon one day. If he continues giving clients the same attention, care, and genuine interest he gave me, he will be an incredible success."

"I went to Empire Beauty School on Monday and I had a stylist named Danielle. She was excellent. She was patient & she knew what she was doing. I got my hair colored & she hooked me up with a silk press hair style. I was so pleased with how she did my hair. I will definitely be going back and asking for Danielle to do my hair."

"Second time here both times were wonderful had kayla i do my hair the first time and mimi my second time. Both times the wait was worth it. Mimi did such a wonderful job with my layered cut and made me feel gorgeous!"

"I just recently graduated from this location. I started my journey in 2021 at the Brooklyn location, unfortunately I did not get to finish. When I was re enrolling, the staff was very very very helpful and patient with me. The executive director of the school is an excellent leader ! The manager of the school is very attentive and hands on ! Financial aid department is very knowledgeable and patient. All the educators and other staff are incredible. It’s a tight nit small school which I actually enjoyed. I was able to build connections with almost everyone even though we weren’t in the same class. Overall I had a great experience! 10/10. If I could go back and do it over again I would. Forever grateful."

"I made an appointment with Kayla and had a great experience. She took excellent care of me from the beginning of our consultation to the very end. She was gentle, and very sweet. She took very good care of me and my hair. Her hands are truly blessed. We decided on a glued on extensions with layers for a voluminous and bouncy look which she did perfectly. Love love LOVE!! Thank you again."
