"Training with Freddy has been one of the best parts of my fitness journey and now my prep for next competition season. I’ve done HIT classes, boxing, and personal training with him — and every single time he brings the same vibe: fun, tough, motivating, and absolutely kick-ass. Freddy has this magical way of turning everyone into a máquina. One minute you’re dying on the last rep, the next he’s fist-bumping you like you just won a championship. 😂 His workouts are always dynamic, smart, and full of laughs. I’ve trained with him for some time, and let’s just say… he’s even training someone who’s trying to make it to the Olympics one day (me 😅). No pressure, right? If you want a trainer who hypes you up, pushes you, keeps things fun, and believes in you like crazy — Freddy is your guy. Máquina demais! 💥💪🔥"

"This place is absolutely filthy! The bathrooms are always filled with overflowing garbage. The sauna smells like a dog kennel. The rugs are never vacuumed. The floors are dark and dingy and hardly get mopped. Have you guys ever heard of bleach?! The bare minimum all they do. For $70 a month, it’s completely disrespectful to the members! Needless to say I will not be renewing membership."

"Absolutely disgusting locker room. This gym has the dirtiest locker room I’ve ever seen, and I have been to several gyms. The gym etiquette is nonexistent. Guys here have poor gym etiquette and just throw garbage on the floor. Bottles and trash on the floor are the norm here. What does management do? Absolutely nothing, they just walk by and don’t pick up anything. It smells terrible too. The gym is spacious and has a lot of nice equipment. But if you don’t mind a filthy locker room, this is your place."

"When I moved to Astoria, I maintained a gym membership in Manhattan for a few months before thinking "ah, man. I should go somewhere closer." Let's start with the good: Club Fitness New York has several floors of fitness equipment. The gym is kept relatively cool in the hot months, and it's open almost every day for a pretty accessible range of hours. A gym membership includes no cancellation fee if you're departing New York City, which is thoughtful and flexible. Staff are generally nice. Here's some of the less good: All the amenities in the men's locker room were consistently pretty lacking. Many of the lockers are broken/missing knobs. The sauna and steam room are both often unclean, with dried mud on the sauna floor and chipping paint in the steam room. The bathroom stinks of urine, and there are very consistently visible yellow stains on the urinals. When machines do break, they are often off-line for a long time. The gym also frequently announces closures of amenities (sauna, showers) by printing them and posting them around the gym. Finally, should you choose to join this gym, please take note that the gym will charge you for an extra month if you don't give ten days' notice before you depart. I am leaving NYC this week and will be sponsoring a month in September. No questions were asked about my circumstances. I signed a contract, so it's on me, but I wanted to pass this along for future members navigating hard times."

"Used to go to this gym and had a great experience. The staff is terrific especially Nelson and Melina who seam to really care. There's tons of equipment and the place is huge but feels cozy. I see why so many people come here. Much better than other options."
