"I recently had a visit to Wine Story located on 1st Ave between 82nd and 83rd St, and I must say it was quite disappointing overall. While the store had a decent selection of wines and spirits, there were a few significant drawbacks that made the experience less than satisfactory. Firstly, the prices at Wine Story were noticeably higher compared to the market price. It's always disheartening to pay more for products that can be found at a more reasonable cost elsewhere. This aspect definitely detracted from the overall value I expected to find in a local wine store. Furthermore, the store appeared to lack a comprehensive knowledge of wines and spirits. The staff seemed little aware of the different product offerings and seemed to lack the expertise one would expect from such a specialized establishment. It was disconcerting not to receive any insightful recommendations or guidance during my visit. To make matters worse, the staff at Wine Story displayed a rude and dismissive attitude. Their demeanors were unfriendly and unwelcoming, making the shopping experience quite uncomfortable. Their lack of willingness to assist or engage in polite conversation left me feeling unappreciated as a customer. Considering all these factors, I cannot wholeheartedly recommend Wine Story. The higher prices, combined with the limited knowledge and rude attitude of the staff, significantly detracted from the potential enjoyment of my visit. There are undoubtedly better options available in this area to explore and expand one's wine and spirits preference."

"Ever since discovering Wine Story, I have loved my experience with the store and staff. They have a great selection of global spirits, usually have in stock what I am looking for and, if not, the staff suggests suitable alternatives. I frequently order for delivery from them and receive my order within the exact timeframe they list. If something is out of stock, before delivery I will receive a call informing of this along with a good replacement suggestion. And their prices are market competitive. I also must say, I truly love the name. When I first saw the store and name I immediately thought of "my story" going back to when I first dove into the world of wine. As such, everyone has their own "story" when it comes to the Dionysus effect. I strongly recommend giving it a visit if you are looking for something to imbibe."

"I love wine story! They opened shortly after I moved to the neighborhood and have been my go-to shop since. I even moved 10 blocks uptown and still won't go anywhere else. I've had deliveries from them twice, and they were prompt and so friendly. Such a gem in UES"

"Great selection! Friendly staff. There's an asain guy with glasses, super friendly and knowledgeable. I think his name was Xiao lin. When I couldn't catch on he said "x" is fine. Love this local spot for me!"

"I left an expensive cake in the store in a shopping bag. The girl was kind enough to call me after I got home to tell me. She was lovely and went the extra step. Lovely. It's a great store. No pressure and very professional. ❤️❤️❤️"
